June was a busy month filled with activities and initiatives dedicated to pride. Riskified proudly made donations in honor of Pride Month to Trinity Place Foundation Shelter in New York and IGY - Israel Gay Movement in Israel. Both organizations support homeless LGBTQ+ youth, providing them with shelter and access to the skills and resources needed to break the cycle of homelessness. In Tel Aviv, we hosted the "You Can’t Ask That!" panel featuring our very own employees. The panel answered anonymous questions submitted by employees. In the US, we had our annual volunteering at Trinity Place Shelter and celebrated Pride Month with a colorful Drag Queen Bingo with Confetti. LGBTQ+ led and serving organizations are chronically under resourced. According to Funders for LGBQT Issues’ Grantmaking by US Foundations Report, for every $100 awarded by US foundations in 2021, only 28 cents specifically supported LGBTQ communities and issues; foundations allocated less than 4 cents per $100 of their total giving to trans communities and issues. These numbers are alarming, but they speak to the lack of investment in LGBTQ+ led and serving work - Which is why organizations like ours are so reliant on community donations! Donate Give back to the LGBTQIA+ community by donating to an affiliated nonprofit in your area. 3. Increase LGBTQ+ inclusivity in the workplace If your workplace does not have a culture that promotes LGBTQIA+ inclusivity, speak to your manager about ways the company can be more inclusive to this community. 4. Watch a documentary on the Stonewall Riots Learn how it all began by watching an informative documentary on the Stonewall Riots and the events that preceded and followed them, like “Stonewall Forever” or “Stonewall Uprising”. 5. Did you know that Reach is the single largest source of trustees to the voluntary sector? 📊 In 2023, charities appointed 1,539 trustees through our service – including 67 chairs, 150 treasurers, 58 trustees with experience in income generation, 47 with an HR background and 25 ‘digital’ trustees. 💪 Not only did these trustees bring essential expertise to the boards they joined – they also brought much needed diversity. 🙌 Reach applicants were more likely than the general UK population to identify as LGBTQ+ or as coming from a global majority community. 🌈 They were also far more diverse in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality and disability than trustees as a whole. Education and Advocacy: We work tirelessly to educate the wider community, promoting acceptance and understanding through awareness training and campaigns. All Age Support: Our services are available to all ages. We have drop-in groups specifically available for young children, all the way to adults.
