"The Missing Piece campaign came together as more medical experts found patient results were regularly stymied by a lack of access to medical pathology technology, which allows precise diagnosis, treatment and prevention across several conditions." James Dowling, The Australian. “The health system isn’t designed for chronic diseases like diabetes. We are moving and things are improving with this, but the whole system was based around acute care right from the beginning.” Ray Kelly, Too Deadly for Diabetes. “All the reviews that are going on at the moment come to the same conclusion, that we need to invest earlier in the patient journey. We need to prevent the issues that are occurring before they occur, and we need to manage these people better.” A/Prof Colman Taylor, Chief Vision Officer, HTAnalysts Read the full article in The Australian: https://lnkd.in/gmwsTuKc Visit the campaign website: https://lnkd.in/gZmUdSVz Watch the video: https://lnkd.in/ggy3Sz-M and join us in raising the volume of this important campaign. The #Automatic #Pill #Dispenser Market: Driving Healthcare Efficiency and Safety from 2024 to 2030 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬..!!https://lnkd.in/gt9ucbKP 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐃𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬: The surge in the global elderly population and the #prevalence of chronic diseases such as diabetes and cancer are major drivers for the Automatic Pill Dispenser Market. #According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the global elderly population is projected to #increase from 728 million in 2020 to 1.5 billion by 2040. This #demographic shift, coupled with an increase in memory-related conditions, underscores the need for automated medication management solutions. 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Automatic pill dispensers have become #indispensable in healthcare settings, especially in inpatient care units. These devices not only provide secure #medication storage but also offer computerized tracking of narcotic and other restricted drug usage. This #reduces manual effort for healthcare professionals, such as end-of-shift narcotic counts, allowing them to focus more on direct #patient care. Advanced features like barcode scanning and Bluetooth connectivity further enhance medication accuracy, preventing errors and ensuring patient safety. Physician | Founder & CEO, SoMeDocs | Healthcare Tech Advisor | Medscape Top 20 Physician Influencers
Yes, yes and YES. A big yes. We are seeing so much change around the horizon. Independence is so underrated. Autonomy is so needed. Yes, that’s what @somedocs fights for. Autonomy. Of relevance, we are running an obesity medicine conference in September, and are now seating speakers. We have two co-chairs, Franchell Hamilton, MD, FASMBS, FACS and Sue Benson-Davies, PhD, DCN, MPH. https://lnkd.in/eijCcPZx #obesity #obesitymedicine #autonomy #healthcare #doctors #somedocs
The growing demand for obesity medicine specialists, across both traditional (e.g., startups like knownwell, brick and mortar #weight loss centers of hospital systems feeding #bariatric programs, etc.) and #telehealth platforms (multiple 'drug dispensaries'), signals a pivotal moment for #independent practitioners. Currently around 1/3rd of internal medicine and family medicine providers are in single specialty setting. Overall, about half of US #physicians uphold their independent status. This is an opportune time not just to resist the trend of employment for the sake of independence, but to #innovate and thrive by developing new models of care that enhance patient outcomes, maintain physician control, and improve financial sustainability. As we embrace the future of obesity care, let us remember that without strategic diversification in revenue models, even this specialty risks becoming as constrained as primary care. We should continue to ask if we want to become hotel employed or run our Airbnb. #obesity #obesitycare #weightmanagement #healthyweight #independentphysicians #weightlosscenters #economicsofobesity #physicians #financialsustainability #revenue #survivalinmedicine #healthcare Dana Corriel, MD

Non-adherence to medication poses a significant challenge in managing cardiovascular diseases, often influencing the progression and outcomes of these conditions. Therefore, strategies aimed at enhancing medication adherence play a crucial role in improving patient health. In a recent study, the introduction of innovative technology in the form of smartphone app reminders proved effective in enhancing adherence to essential medications among patients. By leveraging mobile health technology, patients were empowered to better adhere to their prescribed drug regimens, leading to improved management of their cardiovascular conditions. This implementation underscores the scalability of mobile health solutions, offering a promising avenue for addressing medication adherence challenges on a broader scale and unlocking countless possibilities for improving patient outcomes in cardiovascular care. The incorporation of the MMAS served as a valuable resource for assessing medication adherence. The Morisky scale provided a standardized and validated method for evaluating patients' adherence behaviors, allowing researchers to quantitatively measure adherence levels with precision. Paired with an objective measure like a smartphone app, which offers real-time reminders and tracking, the MMAS enhanced the study's effectiveness in assessing and improving medication adherence.
