Buc-ee’s, the beloved home of beaver nuggets, opened the world’s largest convenience store this week in Luling, Texas. The one-stop-roadside-shop has 75,000+ square feet full of snacks, merch, and over 200 cowboy-hat clad employees slapping fresh brisket on the board. The new Buc-ee’s has 120 gas pumps and cost $40 million to build.
Luling was the location of the first ever Buc-ee’s “where the legend began” in 2003. And by legend, we mean giant beaver slinging grandma-made pepper jelly, the purchase of which always feels vital for the completion of your cross-country road trip. The brand opened its first non-Texas location in 2018, moving first to Alabama and then expanding to a number of other states.
The new location unseats the former largest convenience store (also a Buc-ee’s) in Sevierville, Tennessee, which clocked in at 74,000 square feet.
