Not only are we celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2024, we're also celebrating team member Alex's 25 year work anniversary at Imperial. What an achievement! 🎉 We caught up with Alex to ask about her experiences in the Polythene industry and what's on her playlist!
🟩What are some of the most significant changes you've witnessed in the industry during your 25 years at IPP?
Lots of changes over the years! Raw material costs have changed a great deal. The cost of British manufacturing has increased hugely. Polythene bags have become somewhat more technical than they ever were before. I've witnessed how Imperial have moved with the times over the past 25 years, innovating & adapting to the constant evolving requirements of the Polythene industry / market & the customers needs.
🟩You're a huge music fan! What 3 albums would you take with you if you were stuck on an island?
Very tricky to answer that one! Dark Side of the Moon combined with Wish you were here - Pink Floyd, Different Class - Pulp & Rumours - Fleetwood Mac. These choices could change daily though as so difficult to choose just 3!

Today marks my 13th Anniversary as a member of The Brydens Group.
I feel privileged to have had the chance to collaborate with influential individuals who have enabled me to forge a fulfilling path while contributing value to the organization.
Reflecting on my journey, if you had asked me at the outset if I envisioned myself in my current role, I would likely have answered affirmatively. I have always been driven and recognized the unique skillset I possess and how it can effectively be utilized.
My philosophy includes volunteering my talents where I believe they can make a difference, regardless of personal gain. This approach has not only opened doors to unforeseen opportunities but also allowed me to display abilities beyond my designated responsibilities.
At Brydens, I have transitioned from Brand Manager to Business Development Manager and now Group Corporate Affairs Manager—a career trajectory that aligns perfectly with my aspirations. Each role has been a learning experience, allowing me to refine my skills and maintain a perpetual sense of excitement.
Ultimately, it boils down to comprehending your value. In essence, if you view yourself as a brand, what principles do you stand for?
My journey highlights the significance of hard work, belief, and being a bit of a dreamer. Defining your identity and ensuring that you consistently deliver on it is paramount.
As I celebrate 13 years with Brydens with great enthusiasm, I hope, in your journey, you too have a narrative of growth and self-discovery, where you have carved out opportunities by recognizing your inherent value.

I am celebrating my one year work anniversary at GableGotwals! 🌟
My first year as a lawyer overlapped with my first year as a new mom — which was daunting, to say the least. I worried and wondered how it would all work out: childcare, balancing, keeping up. Being a working mom is tough, because it is very easy to feel like you are failing at everything. “I’m not a good enough lawyer because I’m a mom. I’m not a good enough mom because I’m a lawyer.”
My colleagues and mentors at GableGotwals have actively and ardently worked to alleviate these insecurities. I have received constant support, encouragement, and understanding during my first year of practice. Thinking back, I recall so many examples of my colleagues going out of their way to tell me: “Great work.” “I appreciate you.” “You belong here.” “We couldn’t have done this without you.”
As a new lawyer, you need a safe place to learn. You need people who speak highly of you to your face and behind closed doors. You need examples of integrity and excellence to model after. You need community and friendship. You need leadership that you can trust and believe in.
I have all of that and more at GableGotwals. This is the best firm, and it’s because of the people. I have learned so much about law practice this year, and I intend to keep learning. But, I have also learned so much about the type of person I want to be—and that makes all the difference.
Here’s to year two, and hopefully many more after that!
In a couple of days, I will be celebrating my first anniversary BlackHouse Media (BHM) and it’s been an amazing experience. I will be chronicling my journey and lessons learned over the next 5 days. Do join me!
In this first video , I shared a bit about how I landed my role at BlackHouse Media (BHM) and I wanted to talk about my very first day there. Back in August 2023, I was in a meeting at church, and during the service, my pastor gave me a word of knowledge. He said the Lord would cause my family to rejoice soon. Just a month later, in September, I received a job offer to work at BHM, and that's where this incredible journey began.
I walked into my first day not knowing what to expect, but I was greeted by the most amazing, kind, and supportive colleagues. It made the entire process so much easier. Funny story: we had a team photo shoot two weeks after, so I thought it was going to be a relaxed, fun day. Little did I know, I had an email waiting for me with an assignment — a test report that I had to complete by that morning! 😅
There were a few challenges along the way: my laptop wasn’t cooperating, and I was trying to figure things out as I went. But by 6 PM, I submitted my very first report, and it was such a learning moment.
Here are some lessons I took from that experience:
1. Always check your emails– You never know what task might be waiting for you!
2. PR work never stops – Even when it feels like it’s a fun, light day, there’s always something happening in the background.
3. Stay prepared for anything – The unexpected is part of the job, but that’s what makes it exciting.
Looking back, that first day set the tone for what’s been an amazing year of growth and learning. I’m excited to share more of my lessons this week!
This October, we are excited to recognize six employees who are celebrating milestone service anniversaries! Thank you for your years of hard work and dedication to Persona Triangle!
19 years is a long time for a small business to survive, much less thrive, especially in tech. These elements have seen me through and kept me passionate about, and relevant in, this space:
💡 Curiosity: An almost endless curiosity about business challenges & how technology might play a role in the solutions
🥨 Flexibility: More than just adapting to change, our team thrives on change and get bored when things are static
🤝 Integrity: We're not bound to external sales goals or growth targets, and our clients know we care about their success more than we care about an extra dollar
🌐 Global impact: We've touched hundreds of millions of lives with our education, financial and health solutions, leaving things better than we found them
Let's see what we accomplish in this next year!

As I approach my one-year anniversary at NewGen IT Technologies Pvt Ltd, formerly VCARE InfoTech Solutions and Services Pvt Ltd, I find myself reflecting deeply. It’s disheartening to see some former colleagues, who were once part of our company, now spreading unfounded rumors after leaving a few months ago. They should recognize that our company provided them ample opportunities for growth, both monetarily and in terms of promotion, opportunities they did not receive in their previous workplaces.
There's a saying that resonates deeply with this situation: "People often criticize what they once cherished." It’s clear to me now why this occurs, but it prompts me to question: What do they gain by damaging their own integrity? They left the company under the influence of a former employee who was dismissed by management for poor performance, unethical behavior, and causing significant financial losses to the company. So why propagate such false feedback about a company that once belonged to them as well? Their behavior is truly questionable.
If there are genuine concerns, why resort to hiding behind fake identities (including the company's name and their own) to voice them? Valid grievances deserve transparent discussion. Instead of diminishing their credibility, they should pinpoint where improvements are needed and seek resolution openly. Leaving a company should signify personal growth and encourage the same for others. Let’s foster constructive dialogue and leave groundless accusations behind.
We are celebrating our 1st year 🎗
Here is what I wish I knew before starting
Credit: at the beginning stage, your company will not have any credit. Therefore, it can be extremely hard to move freight, unless you already have a big driver base that trusts you. In many cases, you can offer the drivers payment before the delivery, and they will still refuse to book, because of lack of trust.
Niche down: choose a small niche, and start doing research. Learn the common issues that shippers face in this specific niche. Come up with solutions to those issues. Focus on these solutions, when doing cold calls or sales in general.
Overhead: As you start growing, you will get many calls and emails from companies offering services (tracking services, TMS, marketing, customer leads, business optimizations, credit improvements, etc.). Most of these services will have a binding contract, meaning you will not be able to cancel these services unless the contract ends (some can last up to 3 years). Think twice, before accepting any of these services, because most of your customers can switch to a competitor in any day. This can result in a situation of low cash flow and high overhead, potentially leading to bankruptcy.
