Camp Robin Hood was a resounding success this year, thanks to Austyn Marks’ leadership! As part of our family philanthropy team, Austyn works tirelessly with Marianne Macrae to bring engaging, meaningful experiences to the families of Robin Hood’s supporters.

Since joining Robin Hood in October, I’ve been eagerly looking forward to planning & executing Camp Robin Hood: a week-long service camp for NYC high school teens. Last week, I finally experienced the magic of Camp; leading 16 teens through a week of service, volunteering, and learning about the landscape of inequality in NYC & how Robin Hood fights to make our city work for ALL New Yorkers. The week was comprised of: -A trip to Bowery Residents' Committee to learn about BRC’s work to house our neighbors. -A visit to Part of the Solution to volunteer for their lunch service. -A trip to the Bronx Zoo with the GABI Program at Montefiore Health System, where teens acted as “mentors”/buddies to children in the GABI program, leading them around the Children’s Zoo, and learning about the importance of Early Childhood on life economic outcomes. -A Parent Reception, where teens presented their learnings & takeaways from the week to their loved ones. I’m incredibly proud of the week I and my colleagues put together, and grateful to have a career I love, at a place that inspires and challenges me. Working with teens is incredibly rewarding (and fun). And I’m sincerely looking forward to Camp Robin Hood 2025!
