Celebrating Pride: Authenticity and Freedom to Be Pride month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and its ongoing fight for equality. But even in 2024, many countries and corporations haven't embraced LGBTQ+ rights. This can lead to a heartbreaking reality: LGBTQ+ people feeling they have to choose between hiding their true selves and living authentically. The truth is, everyone benefits from a world where self-expression is encouraged. Here's why: * Diversity strengthens us all. A diverse workforce with a variety of perspectives leads to better decision-making and innovation. * Authenticity leads to well-being. When LGBTQ+ employees can be their true selves at work, they're happier, more fulfilled, and more productive. * Inclusion is good for business. Studies show that companies that embrace LGBTQ+ inclusion outperform their peers. Pride month is a chance to break down barriers and celebrate the beauty of diversity. Let's create a world where everyone feels safe to be themselves. #pridemonth #lgbtq #aweness #inclusioniselemental #🏳️🌈 #happypridemonth

🏳️🌈 June is Pride month. So many LGBTQ+ employees are still experiencing discrimination and prejudice. In fact, according to research carried out by Randstad, questioning over 2,000 members of the LGBTQ+ community, 47% of employees say they’ve experienced some form of discrimination and 39% feel more isolated than they did five years ago. I find this shocking and sad. Shocking that there is still so much misunderstanding and lack of respect of people’s differences, and sad that many in the LGBTQ+ community feel they need to hide their true selves. There is still a lot of work to do. We need far more dialogue and awareness for managers and leaders to help everyone better understand and appreciate one another, support each other, and work to their strengths. By fostering this, you’re helping to create a peaceful, caring and far more successful working environment for all. Many smaller businesses may find it hard to find the time to investigate the huge subject of inclusivity in the workplace. But there are small but significant steps that you can take. #HR #LGBTQ #Inclusion #TechCommunity #EngineeringUK

Amidst the vibrant celebrations of Pride Month, one film recommendation that deeply resonated with me was Call Me by Your Name. Beyond its poignant portrayal of love and self-discovery, the film offers a beautiful tale of a 17 year old Elio understanding his sexual orientation. What took me by surprise is the revelation that his parents were aware and in fact orchestrated the process of self-discovery and exploration. As organizations celebrate pride month and show their commitment towards supporting those from the LGBTQ+ community I wonder how many of us are championing this in our personal spaces. The movie offered valuable insights: 💛 Allyship begins at home. 💙 Belonging is when you feel accepted for who you are. 💜 Acceptance is hard but can be most rewarding to lead fulfilled lives. 👉 Organizations are wired to reward sameness - same college, same previous organization, same club, same style of dressing, same sport. 🔻 The cookie cutter landscape of our organizations and teams needs to welcome people for who they are rather than continue to promote sameness. 🌈 How can you contribute to promoting LGBTQ+ inclusivity in your workplace this Pride Month and beyond? #PrideMonth #LGBTQ #Allyship #Intersectionality #Belongingness #Inclusion #Diversity #Equality

June marks the start of Pride Month and Pride is more than just a celebration—it's a call to action for advancing LGBTQ+ equality! Here’s a reminder of some action Leaders can take to support LGBTQ+ colleagues: 🌈 Sponsorship and Reverse Mentoring Career progression often hinges on sponsorship. Unfortunately, LGBTQ+ employees, especially trans individuals, are less likely to have sponsors/mentors. So seek out high-potential LGBTQ+ talent and leverage your influence to support their success. In turn, you will gain fresh perspectives and grow knowledge about challenges facing LGBTQ+ colleagues. 🌈 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) Set up or join your company's LGBTQ+ ERG and see how you can help. Whether as an Executive Sponsor or an active ally, your involvement can drive meaningful change and provide a safe space for important discussions and celebrations. We will be proudly sharing what our Coalition Strategic Partners and Members are doing throughout the month to learn, celebrate and champion inclusivity in their working environment. Happy Pride! #BuiltOnBetter #Pride #LGBTQ+ #Equality #Allyship #DiversityAndInclusion

How good are you at embracing diversity (personally and professionally)? It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Roger Wilson to run an expert session at our Vistage UK meeting yesterday. We learnt so much from this informative session, we asked the difficult questions and were honest about how our own belief systems might be holding us back. Diversity isn't just about visible differences; it's about honoring every individual's unique identity, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. Embracing LGBTQ+ diversity enriches our workplaces, fostering creativity, empathy, and a culture of acceptance. Are you brilliant at this in your business? Are you just as good in your personal life? We all agreed (honestly) that we could do better and we committed to take action to champion inclusivity and create environments where everyone feels valued and respected for who they are. If you’re looking to join a leadership group that will develop you both professionally and personally then please do get in touch with Claire Farley #DiversityandInclusion #LGBTQ+ #Equality

This month we celebrated #PrideMonth, a time to honour the LGBTQ+ community's history and resilience. But let's go beyond the rainbow and delve into the history that fuels our fight for equality. The Stonewall Riots of 1969, a pivotal moment in LGBTQ+ activism, were sparked by a courageous stand against police harassment. This ignited a movement for equal rights and acceptance, and continues to inspire us today. However, Pride is about more than just celebrating identity. It's about creating a truly inclusive environment. But how do we do that? a. Educate yourself: Learn about LGBTQ+ history, terminology and experiences. b. Challenge bias: Be mindful of unconscious biases and create a safe space for open conversations. c. Advocate for equality: Support LGBTQ+ rights and initiatives within your company and community. d. Be an ally. Speak up against discrimination and promote inclusivity. Let's celebrate the progress made and continue working towards a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to be their authentic selves; not just during Pride month but all year round. #happypridemonth #pride #lgbtq #lgbtq+ #loveislove #inclusionforall #stonewall #fridayfeeling

Rainbow Wash or Real Change? We've seen a surge in companies proudly displaying rainbow flags and hiring LGBTQ+ employees. But is this just a superficial show of support, or a genuine commitment to equality? Let's cut through the rainbow-colored façade. True LGBTQ+ inclusivity isn't just about having a few queer faces in your boardroom. It's about creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Are your company's policies truly inclusive? Do you have employee resource groups that actually empower LGBTQ+ employees? Are you actively fighting for LGBTQ+ rights in your community? It's time to stop applauding tokenism and demand real, meaningful change. Let's call out companies that claim to be allies but fall short. #LGBTQ+ #Inclusion #Diversity #CorporateSocialResponsibility

There are few corporate initiatives as important as creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. According to EY, Gen Z is six times more likely to identify as LGBTQ+ compared to Gen X, and with Gen Z making up 30% of the workforce by 2030, this underscores the growing necessity for inclusive policies in the workplace. While we celebrate and uplift the progress that has been made over the past few decades, we simultaneously acknowledge that we as a society have a long way to go in ensuring that every workplace embraces diversity, promotes equity, and empowers all individuals. Our work in this space inspires deep hope for what's to come. We see the tides of change growing stronger each and every year as forward-looking organizations take bold steps towards a future that celebrates everyone. #IgnitingBoldFutures #Inclusivity #PRIDE #LGBTQ

Diversity goes beyond just appearances. It's about recognizing and celebrating the unique identities and experiences that each person brings to the table. How do we visually represent this in our daily lives and workspaces? Something as simple as adding flags to people in graphics can make a huge difference. It’s a way to show that we see and value every individual for who they are, creating an environment where everyone feels included and respected. In our graphics, we've incorporated flags to represent identities such as gay and trans, showcasing our support for the LGBTQ+ community. This simple visual addition is a powerful statement of inclusivity and acceptance. Let's continue to find ways to make diversity and inclusivity more visible and meaningful in our communities and workplaces. Because when we embrace each other’s true selves, we create a stronger, more vibrant world. #Diversity #Inclusion #LGBTQ+ #Pride #VisualRepresentation
