🌟 Member Highlight: Meet Jennifer Biggs! Why RMPCMA? I initially joined RMPCMA and PCMA to learn more about the industry as I prepared for my CMP. Recently, it's been more about connecting with and learning from my industry peers. Favorite Industry Memory? My best industry memories are always when I’m able to get out of the meeting space and explore the cities we travel to with friends and colleagues. Whether it’s enjoying a tasty meal at a local restaurant, visiting a museum, or relaxing on a beach, experiencing new and different locations is one of the highlights of the profession. Guilty Pleasure? Homemade scones and coffee on a lazy Sunday morning. Hobbies Outside of Work? Skiing, hiking, and mountain biking with my family. Let's give a round of applause to Jennifer for being an inspiring presence in our community! 🌟 #RMPCMA #PCMA #MemberSpotlight #eventprofs #meetingpros #eventsindustry #eventideas #digitalevents #businessevents #meetingplanners

Gearing Up For A Super Busy Weekend Next Monday being a public holiday means this weekend will be extra busier than usual, and for us in Kedah that means it starts today, being a Friday. While most hotel General Manager will be tossing and turning worrying whether the rooms will be getting ready on time or are the preparations for that huge wedding on Sunday are all taken care of, sometimes I like to take a step back and look at the small things that we often forget when we get really busy. When things seem to be getting out of control or awry, I like to get back to basics and fundamentals. Why you ask? Because the fundamentals are there for a reason. They serve as the foundation of any related operations.......the more you divert from them, the further you are going to get away from your goals, and objectives. For me it could be small things like getting the older golf buggies thoroughly cleaned and polished for the full house golf weekend, something we often miss out when we are occupied with other bigger maintenance projects on the golf course. Another thing that can be done is to walk about to every department and checking which department that may be a bit short of hands this weekend and offer assistance by arranging for other departments to assist or approving OT and part time requisitions. Always remember to keep an eye out and standby for departments that have the infamous MC kings or queens who have the tendency of getting diarrhoea over a long holiday weeeked......😅 Or it could be something as mundane as getting a rope with floats tied across the swimming pool to ensure that the hotel guests will be also able to enjoy a swim in the pool, while the pool will be packed with swimming coaches and their local students over this weekend.

Privlieged to go skiing this weekend with the family in Lake Tekapo, South Island New Zealand. Stunning scenery. Great socials too with another family. I took a lesson from a young chap, Nick. Initially my inner voice was 'Nah, don't need a lesson'. That was my denial of truth inner voice, because I knew I needed one. If I wanted to improve. If I wanted to stay like the mouse in the snow plough wheel I would have followed the denial inner voice. Nick and I had an hour on the slopes and here's the thing. What he taught and demonstrated for me was new knowledge. New skills. Without this interruption I could have not advanced. How could I? Here is an example. He taught me to lift my toes up in my boots, 'towards the sky', to help me be less forward leaning and upright in my turns. I tried it. It worked! It is the same principle for team coaching. Skills transfer. The goal of team coaching, ultimately, is for the team to coach itself through the skills learned and applied in the dialogue and exchange with the team coach. At the end of the lesson I thanked Nick for his expertise and good company in our lesson. He is off to Japan in a couple of months instructing over there. Oh, and I might have snaffled a cheeky muld wine too :-) What team skills are you focussing on right now? #teamcoaching

Making time for adventure and play can sometimes feel like climbing a mountain you haven’t trained for. It’s exhausting, not fun, and feels like an obligation rather than a joy. That doesn’t mean it always has to stay this way. I believe that with proper planning and preparation we can learn to create margin in our lives for adventures both big and small and train our minds and schedules to prioritize adventure. At OA Coaching we don’t just focus on the practical side of backpacking and hiking, I also coach you on the mental blocks keeping you from getting out there in the first place so you can stay getting outside. Joining you on the journey is an honor! DM me if you’d like to talk more about turning your mountain into something you can conquer with confidence. #adventurecoaching #prideoutside #backpacking #camping #lgbtqoutdoors #lgbtoutdoors #queeroutdoors #camping #adventurewithconfidence #hiking

🎿 Embracing Life's Slopes 🏔️ As I carve through the snow-covered slopes, I can't help but reflect on the parallels between skiing and life. Each run down the mountain is a unique journey, just like our individual paths in life. 🔄 Adaptability: Just as ski conditions change, life throws unexpected challenges our way. Embrace the twists and turns, and be adaptable. Flexibility is the key to mastering both the mountain and life. ⛷️ Find Your Pace: We all descend the mountain at our own pace. Life's journey is no different. It's not about competing with others; it's about finding your rhythm and enjoying the ride. 🏂 Embrace the Falls: In skiing and life, falls are inevitable. What matters is how quickly we get back up, learn from the experience, and continue the journey. Resilience is the secret sauce to conquering any slope. 🌟 Savor the Views: Just as skiing offers breathtaking views, life is full of beautiful moments. Take the time to appreciate the scenery, celebrate achievements, and cherish the small victories. 👬 Community Matters: Skiing is often a shared experience with friends and fellow enthusiasts. Similarly, life is enriched by the relationships we build. Support and uplift those around you, for we're all navigating the mountain of life together. As we navigate our unique slopes, let's remember that the beauty lies in reaching the bottom and the journey itself. Embrace the slopes of life with enthusiasm, courage, and a sense of adventure. 🚀 Legacy FM #LegacyFM #empowerment through #education #EmpowermentThroughEducation #HealthcareFacilities #healthcare #FacilityManagement #healthcare #hospital #FacilitiesManagement #SkilledTrades #leadership #LeadershipSkills #LeadershipDevelopment #ProfessionalDevelopment #LifeLessons

#businesscontinuity lessons abound, you just have to see them and fortunately(?) my brain is wired for that. I just came back from a weekend of skiing in West Virginia. Hey, there is nothing driveable around me that's a better option. 🎿 When I first started skiing in high school, I was pretty good and a fast learner. I only went skiing at Hunter Mountain in NY, so a glorified hill. Then 10 yrs of nothing. Then I was stationed out west. Time to ski again! I stuck to the greens to knock cobwebs off. I was invited to take the lift to the top of Mt Hood. Yes, that Mt Hood. It showed there was a green trail up there. OK! I quickly learned green doesn't mean "easy," it means "easiest of your options"...which sometimes isn't easy at all. It took me 45 min of plowing down the mountain, leg muscles burned to filth. I think business continuity is easy. Doing it, though, can be more complicated based on your circumstances, but it's always easiest of the options when compared with a double-black diamond of a disaster when you aren't prepared. I’ve got a bad back 😢 But that won’t stop me from attending FREE Netwalking tomorrow at Sefton Park at 7am 🕺😁 I just won’t be able to wear my 50lb weighted rucksack 👎 We have a brand new venue too (Press Bros) and the food/drinks are top quality 👌 It’s been frustrating being limited with a bad lower back, but I got it looked at on Tuesday and overall it’s improving daily. It needs to be back to 100% ready for my skiing trip to Les Deux Alpes on Monday too! ⛷️ Anyone going there next week? Anyway, back to MOVE Netwalking… If you like: ✅ Walking (especially with your dog or the family) ✅ Being around positive people ✅ getting accountability to level up … then that’s why you’ll love MOVE Netwalking! We have a good bunch of winners booked on already 👌 If you can’t get up early, it won’t be for you. If you’re lazy, it’s definitely not for you. If you have no discipline to get yourself outside of your comfort zone, it’s also not for you. So, if you fancy it, just book yourself on. Let me know and I’ll fire over the link to book 👍 Where’s you fav place to go skiing by the way and why? 🏔️ #Netwalking #Walking #Wellbeing #Networking #Liverpool

“Skiing is the only sport where you spend an arm and a leg to break an arm and a leg!” – Unknown. 🎿 That joke echoed in my mind as I stood on the ski slopes for the first time in 30 years. As an “ex” snowboarder, I was stepping into unfamiliar territory, not for the thrill, but for something far better – to join my 6 and 7 year old daughters as they embarked on their first skiing adventure. 👨👧👧 For them, I was ready to brave the skis again. But there was a catch. At this stage in my career and family life, I have a chronic back issue and injuring it further (or another injury) wouldn’t just be a personal setback. It would have real repercussions for my family and my work. 🤔 The Dilemma: The old me might have taken the risk without a second thought or let the fear keep me from those imortant family moments - I’d have just been a spectator and not a participant. But life teaches you the value of balance and preparedness. 💡 The Solution: I invested in an expert ski instructor to get my long lost ski bearings again. This decision was about more than just learning to ski. It was about ensuring my safety, mastering the right technique, and, most importantly, being there for my daughters in a fun and meaningful way. 💼 M&A Business Sale Parallel: This mirrors the journey of selling a business. You're skilled at running your company, but selling it is a different game. It requires expertise in navigating complex contracts and negotiations you likely aren’t prepared for. Just like skiing, the right guidance is crucial to avoid costly mistakes and obtain the critical “net plus”. It’s so worth it to have the right expert help you. It will pay for itself in spades. 🚀 Takeaway: Whether it’s skiing with your kids or navigating the intricacies of a business sale, the right expertise is invaluable. It safeguards your journey and enriches the experience. Ever faced a decision where taking the expert route made all the difference? Share your story! #SkiingWithFamily #ExpertGuidance #BusinessStrategy #LifeLessons #FamilyFirst

🌻 It's me speaking, not AI | I inspire other leaders to pioneer successful innovation in Drug Development & Clinical Trials 🌻
CARE 2 SHARE, SHARE 2 CARE 👇 🌻 🎁 This week, I was reflecting about our own #expectations. I had the pleasure to go cross- country skiing with my husband. It was the second time I tried this specific sport, and I managed better than I had expected. So I was in good spirits when I started the last part of the route. This part was used by cross- country skiers from all levels. When I was halfway through, a seemingly highly experienced and much faster skier tried to pass by me. However, the skier had underestimated my speed and made a fast movement- and then fell to the ground. I stoped and asked if I can help. The skier, obviously quite embarrassed, shook his head, waited until I had finished the route, then got up again and went his way. This small incident made me think about how important it is for us, when we believe we have mastered a specific skill, still to be realistic. Even when we know something well, we can’t know everything. Even if we can do something well, we can‘t do it well all the time. Situations can be unpredictable, and it is important for us not to expect to be perfect. My Take home message from this small encounter was : 📌Even experts face situations in which they might not know the best next step. 📌 Be kind to yourself and take your mistakes with some kind of humor. We are all humans, and making mistakes makes us what we are. What do you think about this? Thanks for sharing your perspective 🙏 #care2share #share2care #share #care #inspirationalthoughts #personaldevelopment #learning #leadership #reflection #whatinspiresme
