💲 Innovation in the Renewables sector! 💲 The UK government has allocated £1.73 million to eight projects focusing on AI development within renewables. These initiatives range from improving the accuracy of weather forecasting for solar energy to using AI to optimise energy efficiency within buildings. The funding comes from the government’s AI for Decarbonisation Innovation Programme, part of the £1 billion Net Zero Innovation Portfolio. Notably, this follows previous funding rounds, including last year's establishment of the UK’s Artificial Intelligence for Decarbonisation’s Virtual Centre for Excellence. Among the recent winners, awarded as part of Stream 3, funding was divided into three sectors: electricity generation and distribution, transport decarbonisation, and land use for renewables. Notable projects include the University of Nottingham's work on improving solar energy forecasting, Carbon Laces Solutions' development of smart grid technology, and Flexible Power Systems' AI optimisation of electric fleet operations. Ministers Amanda Solloway and Viscount Camrose praised these projects, highlighting the role of AI in enhancing renewables and achieving net-zero ambitions. In the grand scheme of things, its only a small investment, however it shows that we're taking the right steps as a country to take advantage of AI to make Renewable Technology even more effective! #renewableenergy #netzero #AI #artificialintelligence

How can we continue the AI expansion, while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions? How can we continue the AI expansion, while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions? All of this presents opportunities for investors. Not all data centre providers have the scale to procure renewable power either through PPAs or investments in renewable power plants. The pressure to decarbonise data centres also presents opportunities—not only in infrastructure, but in renewables needed to power them, as well as cooling and energy efficiency technologies. AI development won’t be sustainable if this industry does not get sufficient investment… AI is booming, but it’s a power-hungry giant. 📈 Data centers consume 1-2% of global electricity today. By 2025, they could use up to 10%! 🌐 The solution? 🤔 Renewable energy. 🔄 Without it, AI’s growth isn’t just unsustainable - it’s risky. Some countries are trying to get ahead of the curve… In 2023, Denmark had a 67% increase in wind and power systems thanks to investment from companies such as Vestas Wind and South Australia had a 75% increase. South Australia are also pushing for a legislation to have a target in 2027 of 100% renewable energy. 👏🏽 Also Morocco has a strategy that is equally ambitious. The country aims to generate 52% of its electricity from renewables by 2030, focusing on solar, wind, and hydropower. They understand we need wind and solar to power our future. 🌬️☀️ Investing in green energy isn’t just smart - it’s essential. 🌿⚡️ A cleaner power source will drive innovation and protect our planet. 🌍 ♻️ Please share with your network if you enjoyed or found value in this post! #RenewableEnergy #AI #SustainableTech #CleanPower #DataCenters #GreenEnergy #FutureOfEnergy #Innovation

Helping Data Centers save 40% in energy costs with our AI Autopilot Platform "A.I.M.I." *Opinions are my own*
Thanks for the shoutout Kiel "Atlas" Berry! As mentioned below, data centers growth has been fueled by #AI and #GPU demand. The US grid infrastructure needs to grow to meet this new energy demand. Data centers will consume 20% of the world’s power by 2040, with SMB data centers growing rapidly to $30B. Major automation companies like Honeywell and Johnson Controls don't address how disparate and fragmented facility systems (HVAC, IT, water, lighting) in these centers are. Our company, FLUIX AI, does. We are the Autopilot for data center facility management. Our AI software optimizes and manages complex facilities, saving up to 40% in energy costs, helping SMB data centers increase margins and meet AI demand. We are gearing up to close our SAFE round, if your an investor in the Bay Area interested in #climatetech #proptech #energy industry, DM me. I invite you to come see our AI in action at our pilot customer site in Berkeley, CA. #fluix #datacenter #ai #energy #cooling #automation #thermalmanagement #computing
Data center energy needs due to AI is quickly becoming the 🔥 topic us #climatetech VCs are talking about these days. I've seen many creative ways founders are looking to solve these issues: ▪ building data centers directly at renewable projects or even at natural gas flaring sites (Crusoe) ▪ building seamless "plug & play" renewable energy agreements (Athanasios Caramanolis has been enlightening me on what's possible) ▪ building AI to control cooling, air handling, and lighting (shout out to Florida-born FLUIX AI, founder Abhishek Sastri) ▪ building data centers closer to the usage points, within cities (Roelof Opperman at CogNovum saw it coming long before it was mainstream) ▪ ....and Peter Gross, PE has been watching this trend almost since inception That being said, I'd love to meet more founders coming up with unique ways to mitigate this looming energy crisis. Hit me up! 🙋🏾♂️ #venturecapital #datacenters #renewableenergy https://lnkd.in/eucG2S44
