I am happy to share that the ICCT has published the TCO analysis for Transjakarta at route level. Key findings include the significantly higher efficiency of e-buses compared to diesel buses, the feasibility of operating certain routes with specific e-bus configurations, and the potential cost competitiveness of e-buses with extended contract durations. ALI Talks - Alternative Energy, EV Truck Conversion Based on IESR (2023)*, transport sector contributes around 23% of total greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia. While efforts over the past decade have made strides, they have not kept pace with the overall increase in emissions. Identifying alternatives for conventional transportation mode that use Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) is crucial for impactful emission reduction while ensuring business viability for the logistics industry. Despite growing interest in electric vehicles (EVs), new EV trucks remain prohibitively expensive for commercial viability. Retrofitting ICE trucks to battery electric vehicles (BEV) at the end of their life cycle presents a viable alternative. Our upcoming event on 6 June 2024 will be the first of our ALI Alternative Energy Series, which address various topics related to alternative energy for logistics in Indonesia every 2-3 months. The discussion is going to focus on the retrofitting implementation of BEV trucks. "Sustainable E-Mobility: Upscaling Bus Electrification Nationwide" Today, I attended the event "Sustainable E-Mobility: Upscaling Bus Electrification Nationwide," held by ITDP Indonesia and supported by ViriyaENB and The Jakarta Post. In this event, we discuss the issue about how bus electrification plays a pivotal role in the transportation industry's journey towards sustainability. As key nodes in the transportation network, electric buses have the potential to significantly impact emissions reduction and environmental stewardship. However, realizing this potential requires proactive measures and collaborative efforts from all stakeholders involved. Reluctance over cost and initiative remains a major hurdle. The implementation to achieve this target requires strong commitment to planning, determining the number of electric buses, providing charging facilities, and aligning electrification with legal frameworks. At this event, the Draft Roadmap Document and National Incentive Program for the Electrification of Urban Road-Based Public Transportation, prepared by ITDP Indonesia, was handed over to the Ministry of Transportation Republic Indonesia. This document includes a matrix of urban public transportation electrification readiness criteria, stages of electrification implementation, an outline design of fiscal incentive programs, as well as policy recommendations and action plans to realize the roadmap and incentive program. ABB Indonesia is located in WTC 3 Jakarta. It can be reached easily by public transportation since the distance from nearest MRT station (Bendungan Hilir Station) is just around 400 meters. Public transport plays a key role in providing basic, affordable mobility to people who have no access to individual transport modes. Rail is one of the green modes of transport and is fundamental for decarbonising the transport sector. There are many types of railway transport system. In some countries we can find tram, light rail & metro system, monorail, suburban or commuter line, till high speed train. Each mode has its own characteristic: top speed, passenger capacity, distance, headway, and of course the power supply. There are AC traction and DC traction power supply application. The AC traction is usually for higher speed and longer distance like highspeed train. It uses 15kV 16.7Hz or 25kV 50/60Hz line. The DC traction uses 750V, 1500V or 3000V line. Investing and Understanding The EV Infrastructure Charging Landscape. The revolution of EV has sent ripples accros Indonesia, with markets expanding rapidly in strongholds like Greater Jakarta and other big cities accros the regions. South of Jakarta has seen significant growth in EV movement, it is increasing a consumer awareness. In the region like Bintaro, an EV account for 10% market share of rapidly expanding Greater Jakarta. Being apart of the State electrification stakeholders’ committment; Voltron Indonesia is giving support for the charging infrastructure to meet the surging demand for EVs particularly notable Bintaro region.
