Had a thought. As HR, shouldn't we look deeper into the issue when us / the company need to "force" employees to join our team building activities? How often has it happened that we organize summer outings intended to promote camaraderie and team spirit yet many are not really keen on joining? Alibis left and right, sometime you even have to penalize (the cost will be charged to you!), yet we never took time to ask why? Do they not see the value of it? 4moThere's the right timing in everything. Getting a team together in the same objective will remain futile if few are engaged. As HR's we should be proactive on this. Let's not just organise just because it's a tradition. Let's be purposeful in this. Engagement is only a word until everyone is involved.
