Role Description This is a full-time on-site role as the Managing Director: Africa at Rolux Global in Randburg, Johannesburg, South Africa. As the Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and strategic direction of our business in Africa, predominantly focused on our growth in South Africa. This includes managing a team, developing and executing business plans, driving sales and marketing initiatives, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. You will be the driving force behind our growth and success in the African market. Qualifications/Skills/Requirements - Strong and proven sales and marketing expertise - Strong leadership and management skills - Proven experience in senior executive positions - Excellent commercial/business acumen and strategic thinking skills - Experience in the consumer goods, manufacturing or outdoor equipment industry preferable - Experience in growing SME's will be advantageous - Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment - A minimum of a university degree in Business, Management, Engineering or a related field (a postgraduate degree is advantageous) - Referrals/references are absolutely critical to succeeding in your application for this role Rolux is a fast-growing brand of outdoor equipment. We have been in existence for more than 60 years, with the current shareholders and team being involved for the past five years. Having been through many changes over the past years, we are looking for a person to take the reins of our South African (and African) operations where growth and profitability are the primary objectives. Looking at the picture below, I think we should all be able to know what I meant by the word "We are all salesmen" If you are a flour mill owner and push a public campaign to eat more bread---- or if you are a husband who has to persuade his wife that the bigshots simply must be invited to dinner---- or if you are a boss giving directions to workers---- or a negotiator in a worker-employer settlement---- or a student applying for a fellowship---- -you are a salesman and you have to convince. The ability to convince is one of the most important elements of success in every occupation and in every profession. It is therefore not surprising that top salesmen get on well in life.
