🌟 Rosen Automotive Celebrates 35 Years of Community Support 🎉 As we commemorate our 35th anniversary, Rosen Automotive is proud to continue our legacy of giving back to the community. This year, we continued our ongoing sponsorship of Feeding America's Healthy Kids, Healthy Summer campaign. During the summer break, many children lose access to the nutritious meals they rely on during the school year. At Rosen Automotive, we believe that kids should be free to enjoy their summer days without worrying about where their next meal will come from. Did you know that 1-in-6 children in Eastern Wisconsin are facing hunger right now? Through our support of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin's Healthy Kids, Healthy Summer campaign, we aim to make a positive impact in our local community by ensuring that children have access to nourishing meals throughout the summer months. Join us in making a difference by donating to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin's 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘒𝘪𝘥𝘴, 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘚𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 campaign. Your contribution will help provide essential nutrition to children in need, giving them the opportunity to have a healthy and happy summer. Learn more about how you can support this important cause by visiting https://lnkd.in/gJZ-fu8h. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children facing hunger in our community. 🌞🍎 #RosenAutomotive #CommunitySupport #HealthyKidsHealthySummer

The more access to resources that struggling kids have, the more likely they are to stick it out and stay in school and eventually graduate, get a GED or go to college. This was a driving force for our Kitsap Chapter’s “Weekend Food Bags” program. While many unaccompanied, homeless or at-risk students receive a free lunch during the week through state and federal programs, they often do without on the weekend. Through a partnership model with four regional school districts and the local community college, and funding via donations, Kitsap provides each month: –1400+ food packs to 400+ young hands who need them. Each pack contains three meals, snacks, juice box, treat and napkin/utensil. – 6,200 individual snacks and easy-entrees (Cup Noodle Soups/microwavable Mac & Cheese cups) to counselors and teachers to support another 300-350 youth who don't qualify for government-subsidized meals but are still experiencing hunger. A small, key volunteer crew, led by Executive Director Margaret Rodriguez and Assistant Chapter Director Felicia Hord, helps store, assemble and deliver the much-appreciated packs across their sprawling, rural area in Western Washington. We love the impact they’re making to reduce food insecurity and break the cycle of students dropping out of school. But as Felicia shares, “So many more hands we need, so much more we could be doing.” Read about our Kitsap Chapter here: https://buff.ly/4afwCxK #StandUpInAction #Kitsap #KitsapCounty #FoodInsecurity #EndHunger #FoodRescue #Hope #Donation #CycleOfHope

Starting today, early giving for #SOLAGivingDay is underway, and your generosity can make a real difference in the lives of children across South Louisiana. With summer break approaching, many families are faced with a concerning question: Without school meals, how will we feed our kids? In South Louisiana, one in seven families and one in five children experience food insecurity. This isn't just a statistic—it's a reality that's hitting close to home. Second Harvest is gearing up to tackle this surge in hunger by doubling our efforts to feed children during these critical months. But this effort isn't something we can achieve alone—we need you. By donating early to #SOLAGivingDay, you can provide a lifeline to those families who won't receive additional help this summer. Imagine this—every single dollar you contribute can help provide three wholesome meals. That's the power of #SOLAGiving in action! Don't wait until May 2 to join us in ensuring no child goes hungry this summer. Give now at https://lnkd.in/gTsWD6Y4 #NOSUMMERHUNGER #FeedTheFuture #SOLAGivingDay

#Omaha #CommunitySupport #OmahaNeedsUs #OmahaBusinesses #OmahaBusinessLeaders #OmahaNeeds Food insecurity rates are higher in some areas of Omaha, including northeast, southeast, and northwest Omaha, where rates can reach as high as 48.5%. Food insecurity is even more common among families with children. In Omaha, one in five children under the age of 18 goes to bed hungry every night. Heartland Kids Against Hunger is working to contribute to stocking shelves at multiple area food pantries such as Heart Ministry Center, Together Omaha, University of Nebraska at Omaha, and more. Omaha business and organization leaders can make a large and lasting impact in our communities and beyond by encouraging volunteering and giving. Without your help, many community members including children would be going without. Every dollar donated to Heartland Kids Against Hunger goes towards packing highly nutritious meals and is tax-deductable.

As a continuation to my post from Monday where I shared about my involvement as a Board member for the School Garden Support Organization, I wanted to expand on my “why”. And why my purpose and passions are centered on supporting equitable learning, school gardens, sustainability, and representation. Today, the majority, ~70% of agricultural workers are foreign born migrants. They are the backbone of our food supply chain, yet often are not given basic human rights or access to the systems/programs we all take for granted. Often, they are the center of vitriolic language and unfair policies; Our farm workers do not receive the respect they deserve. I would like to see dignity and pride in farm work restored. I would like to see agriculture in all forms seen as a meaningful career path. An industry that is valued as significant and has high importance; And that we support through our education system. How can we honor our migrant workers, and the legacies of Caesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta? I think it starts by supporting organizations that teach youth the importance of gardens, farming, sustainability, and communities. It is then we can truly “Honor the hands that harvest your crops.” - Dolores Huerta #purpose #passion #advocacy #nationalfarmworkersawareness #sustainability #community #leadership https://lnkd.in/gccx4yyy
🌱 It's National Farm Worker Awareness Week! This week we honor the farm workers who are the backbone of our food supply and celebrate their invaluable contributions to our communities. 🍇 Regardless of the multitude of challenges farm workers face, such as climate change, immigration, lack of worker protections and pesticides, farm workers remain resilient and continue to work tirelessly to ensure that there’s food on our tables. 🔦 Stay tuned this week as we shine a spotlight on the challenges and issues impacting these essential workers and learn how you can help the workers who put food on our tables. 🤲🏽 This week, please consider making a donation to the UFW Foundation. Your donation goes towards programs and advocacy for farm workers, their communities and families. To donate, go to https://lnkd.in/gtzc7Bfm

Each Fall, I embark on my "Fundraising Frenzy" to support a local organization, matching donations along the way. This year, I am dedicated to Camella's Cupboard Food Pantry for Children, a local organization that focuses on providing Food for Kids. E̲v̲e̲r̲y̲ ̲s̲t̲o̲r̲y̲ ̲i̲s̲ ̲u̲n̲i̲q̲u̲e̲,̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲f̲o̲r̲ ̲k̲i̲d̲s̲ ̲f̲a̲c̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲f̲o̲o̲d̲ ̲i̲n̲s̲e̲c̲u̲r̲i̲t̲i̲e̲s̲,̲ 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁. Camella's Cupboard Food Pantry for Children is a remarkable local initiative, sending over 500 families in the area 60 lbs of fresh food, necessities, and more each week. The need is clear - kids are going hungry. Shockingly, 1 in 6 kids in CT experience food insecurity, but since 2018, Camella's Cupboard has been making a difference. It's all about the kids. If you would like to support this cause, there are several ways to help or donate! 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐭𝐭𝐩𝐬://𝐛𝐢𝐭.𝐥𝐲/𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐂𝐮𝐩𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲. 🥫 February is Canned Food Month! 🍲 As we navigate through this month, let's take a moment to peek into our kitchen cabinets. It's the perfect time to check on those canned goods we've been storing. 🧐 Here's a small but impactful task for this week: Check the expiration dates on your canned food items. Set aside those that are still good but you don't plan to eat. Why not turn this into an opportunity to give back? 🤝 Those unexpired cans could be a hearty meal for someone in need. Consider donating them to your local food pantry. It's a simple act of kindness that can make a big difference in your community. 🌟 Let's spread the love this February by sharing what we can. Drop off your canned goods at a nearby pantry and help keep the spirit of giving alive! 💖 Remember, every can counts! 🙌 #CannedFoodMonth #GiveBack #CommunitySupport #FoodPantryDonation #SpreadKindness #FebruaryGiving #CheckYourCans #DonateToday #FeedingTheCommunity #EveryCanCounts

One of the easiest ways to support the kids served by GO Pantry is to donate food items we need to fill our Spring Break GO Boxes. 🌷☀️🌈 And if you don't have the time or physical capacity to hold an official food drive in your workspace, simply shop our Amazon Wish List and have our most needed items shipped directly to our warehouse! 📦 Spring Break GO Boxes provide a week's worth of kid-friendly, easy-to-prepare food for kids who experience food insecurity when they aren't in school (and as a result, aren't receiving school-provided breakfast and lunch). Click through to access our wish list, or email sarah@gopantry.org for a full list of items needed for GO Boxes. https://lnkd.in/gdhB2Agg
