Controversial Post Alert :) Exercise vs Extra Fries: Can't It Be Both? 🍟💪 It's important to consider how social norms influence our everyday lives in a society where they frequently govern our choices, whether they are related to nutrition or exercise regimens. What society considers to be "healthy" or "acceptable" influences our actions in a variety of ways, from the pressure to work out every day to the temptation of indulging in additional fries. The twist is this: Why can't we embrace both? We're redefining wellness today to go beyond regimens and diets that make us feel bad about what we eat. It's about striking a balance that feeds the mind and the body. Exercise might be walking in the park, some TheraBand exercises at home, dancing or Pilates in your living room with some upbeat music, or simply using the stairs rather than the lift. Exercise isn't only about sweating it out in the gym. And those extra fries? They serve as a gentle reminder to enjoy the small things in life, but wisely! Read this!” At the start of my fitness journey, I thought I was doing everything right: 💪 Worked out 3-5 times a week 🥗 Ate clean and healthy I even dabbled in keto, low carb, paleo, vegan, and those goddamn meal replacement shakes. I even tried crunching the fat off my abs because I hated how my mid section looked for 15 f**king years. Oh, and I worked with a program called ‘Metabolic Balance’ to boost my metabolism, but it was so f*ckn restrictive I ended up binge eating. Training more and eating less was NOT the key to getting that toned dream body. Four years. Four f**king years in the gym, obsessing over food, and I still didn’t look like I worked out. It pissed me off. I wanted to rock shorts in the summer. I wanted to wear no rash shirt without hiding under a towel. I wanted to wear my favorite clothes without always defaulting to those same black shirts that made my mid section look slimmer. I wanted to enjoy my favorite foods and go out for pizza without worrying it would ruin all my progress. I could have saved 4 years and a ton of frustration if I just understood how to match my training with proper nutrition to actually change how my body looked. Here’s what I’d do if I wanted to continue struggling with my weight…👇 (Point number 5 is absolutely key) ❌ I would refuse any kind of real support and just keep opting for the same diets and approaches that didn’t work for me last time. 🍕I would consume lots and lots of ultra-processed foods so that I felt like shit and I couldn’t stick within my calories. 📲 I wouldn’t track any of my food - I would just eye-ball it and try and eat a little bit healthier, without really knowing what ‘Healthier’ actually means. 🏋️ I’d make sure that I had no training plan so that I had no motivation to go and train, and so that when I got there I would just float around picking only the exercises that I knew. (Every day is chest and arms day) 🩸I would definitely get my bloods done, but I would make sure that they were tested and analysed within the ‘Normal’ ranges because I would just want to be told ‘Hey it’s ok, everything has come back normal’ even though I looked like Sméagol! 👥 And finally, I would make sure that I had absolutely no form of accountability because I know that would probably force me to up my standards and lose weight. So yeah, get implementing all of this if you want to continue to struggle with your weight!
