Another welcome step to bring objectivity to a predominantly subjective issue. Many diverse factors to consider, however.
The question of how much training should be done in a simulator and how much should be live flying is different for every individual pilot, every air force and every type of aircraft. That is why we are working alongside training technology experts VRAI to compare the data from sorties flown by pilots in our advanced jet trainer, Hawk, with that from simulator training. This analysis of objective data will allow us to accurately explore which type of training delivers the most benefit, enabling us to tailor training to deliver even more highly-skilled pilots quicker.
