“Real-time data, rather than time-based snapshot data, brings greater accuracy to any maintenance strategy. ABS, for example, in its 2021 Advisory on Fatigue Monitoring of Floating Production Installations, noted how it can benefit fatigue calculations by providing more accuracy than interval-based approximations, potentially leading to higher remaining fatigue life for structural connections.”

A great article by Interreg Baltic Sea Region and my favourite Mr Ulf Siwe on the important work from a few of our excellent projects are conducting in the Baltic Sea:
"The solutions developed by these projects advance the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region policy areas Ship and Safe in their mission to make the Baltic Sea region a model region for sustainable shipping. Together, project partners and the coordinators of the EUSBSR policy areas ensure that our region can function as a test-bed for new and innovative products, services, methods, and practices addressing global challenges."

👩✈️👨✈️ 🔊🔊: Attention to vessel owners & operators
if your vessel is too loud, it doesn’t operate efficiently. This results more green gas emissions (GHG) and underwater radiated noises ( URN) by consuming more fuels. Get baseline URN measurements of your vessel now so that you can comply with International Maritime Organization’s revised guidelines to reduce URN and receive incentives at Ports. You want to improve your URN reductions on your next dry dock services to ensure you still have your license to sail when regulations are in effect.
A new step forward towards quieter oceans has been reached!
The EU-funded LIFE PIAQUO project has collected more than 850 ship signatures offshore #Fos-sur-Mer and currently offshore #Genova harbour thanks to the SmartURN buoy developped by Quiet-Oceans.
The results of these measurements of opportunity are available at :
www.urn-ship.com.
Shipowners, check on-line if your ship has been measured !
You can ask for your measurement statement and request a detailed analysis report.

Our two first ships have officially been launched and successfully transferred from the dry dock to the harbour!
Watch the launch and the incredible progress of the construction of the first ships to transport CO2 from capture point to storage.
Thank you to everyone involved. We look forward to welcoming the ships to Norway later this year🚢

The Finns have one of the strongest icebreaker fleets in the world⚓The fleets are run by Arctia Oy, who collaborates with Lamor in the Ice Management in Oil Recovery (IMOR) programme. This partnership aims to develop and enhance techniques for oil recovery in icy conditions.
The icebreaker Polaris, which joined Arctia’s fleet in September 2016, plays a key role in this collaboration. Lamor has delivered the built-in oil recovery system, which enables the ship to collect 1015 cubic meters of oil at a rate of 200 m³/h in harsh weather and ice conditions.
Given the challenging environment of the northern Baltic Sea, where Arctia's fleet operates, effective oil spill response capabilities are crucial. Discover more in the article👇

MENENS – Holistic grid design optimization of methanol-powered shipping
A maritime consortium dedicated to 'methanol as an energy step toward zero-emission', is prioritizing comprehensive research on full DC grid development. Focusing on a yacht use case, the implementation of a decentralized DC propulsion switchboard promises significant reductions in weight and energy loss. Incorporating a secondary DC grid is equally essential for maximizing efficiency, volume and weight.
