For example: In which relationships did Ruth show COMPASSION? Did you find signs of her UNFAILING DEVOTION? In what ways was she RESPECTFUL? How did she exhibit HONESTY? Ruth was referred to as a VIRTUOUS WOMAN. What was it about her reputation and integrity that led to such characterization? Do you feel like you are in constant search of something but you can't seem to articulate it into words for others or even yourself to understand? What if I told you that this is you in search of our inner child and conscious, becoming exhausted from the pretend "life's" play from being unauthentic to ourselves, feeling shame, guilt and doubt within almost everything we do both personally and professionally. Finding, being and staying true to who we are is the greatest gift we can give ourselves, our team, family and community. I am in competition with no one other than myself, however at times it can be harder to stay in touch with who I am, thanks to all the expectations, duties, roles and societal norms. Which is why my team and I are putting together another Women's EmpowHERment event with a profound intention, to help to make our community a better place by putting humans at the center of all that we do. Our goal for is to create a symphony of empowerment, encouragement, and enablement within a supportive environment. When it comes to finding ourselves we need a kaleidoscope of perspective to help us put the self puzzle together, otherwise we can feel quite isolated in our feelings and emotions. 7 reasons to book on our Women's Leadership Network (WLN) Community of Practice in Tackling sexual violence and harassment in FE 1. Take a preventative approach. You know you deal with individual cases robustly and with empathy but you are concerned about the rise of cases and want to raise awareness and take a more preventative approach. 2. Change attitudes. Cases of sexual harm are also about attitudes and culture and you think that needs to be challenged by everyone. 3. Involve colleagues and build allyship. You think this is too much for the safeguarding team to tackle alone and you want strategies to involve other colleagues and learners in taking action. 4. Get practical and operational ideas. You want to share ideas with colleagues across the sector that are practical and operational and will support you to deal with the challenges. 5. Off load and get support. This is hard work, sometimes we need space to think and discuss things. 6. Know you are not alone. We are all challenged by this. 7. Know you are doing a good job. Support isn’t a luxury; it's a necessity. Most of the women I work with, either as their coach or their organizational facilitator, love the work they’re doing – it's the space they’re doing it in that can be frustrating. Their frustration can stem from navigating office politics, managing microaggressions, feeling unheard or undermined, or feeling unsupported in their roles. They may know they have agency, but are too tired to reclaim it. They’re leaders working double time to complete the to-do lists, getting kids to where they need to be, trying to meet a tight project deadline while having back-to-back meetings, trying to care for a sick family member - or a combination of all of the above. I can hear it in their voices - that these challenges weigh them down, especially when all they’re trying to do is go after their goals and show up for the role they really want. Put yourself in any part of this story. Does any of it ring true? SOMETHING’S GOTTA TO GIVE. AND SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE BACK. Now picture yourself in a safe space surrounded by a community of women standing in your corner and lifting you up. These women all get it because they’re in it. AND I'M RIGHT THERE WITH YOU ALL.
