We are so excited to announce the new and improved Wasatch Challenger: Dirtbag Derby edition! Grab a partner and get ready to go outside and climb to earn points to win! You also will be competing in fun dirtbag challenges to earn extra points, while also making our local crags better and being able to get goofy with your climbing 👏 Here are the rules: Sport/ Trad Routes only (unless otherwise specified in bonus point section) Routes must be red pointed to count (no falls, or hangs, or aiding of any kind, and the anchor must be clipped) Only outdoor routes count Point value are assigned to each grade Stick Clips are allowed for safety reasons TEAMS: Teams consist of two climbers. There are no “solo” climbers, or solo awards or solo anything. Team members will belay each other, no outside help with belaying. Teams will need to come up with a unique (and appropriate) name. If not, a default team name will be assigned by the SLCA. SCORING: Each team will keep track of its climbed routes and laps, via the honor system. Team members do not have to climb the same routes. Individual scores will be tallied as a team total. 🎩 Sport Science - Bridgerton Edition! 🏇 While at the races, Lord Bridgerton picks Nectar, the odds on favorite commenting that he's "well bred, highly trained, and well favored." Kate questions his "feeling" stating "so you've considered your horses temperament as well as the conditions of the track in order to properly assess its true potential." She continues, "Nectar ran well at Doncaster, but that was a firmer course. The weather was much cooler, thus his size was an advantage. Today the track is soft and it is hot, meaning he will struggle to make headway, overheat and slow down during the final leg, giving Highflyer, a much swifter, lighter, cooler horse, the victory." Just as Kates analysis predicted, Highflyer come our victorious after Nectar faded. Using historical data, athlete training status, and her knowledge of the sport, Kate was able to assess the likelihood of victory for her chosen horse. Sport science wins! #Bridgerton #SportScience

Perfecting Your Wiggles. This was Bryson Dechambeau at the weekend. Arguably one of golf’s biggest hitters spanking a 5 wood off into the distance after many…..many wiggles. It was a sight to behold. What is interesting is that you don’t have to follow these top golfers for too many holes to realise that not only are there many, many wiggles in the pre swing routine….for each player, their wiggles are identical, seemingly to the nano second every time they step up the to the ball. On the one one hand, what looks like a personal and quirky bit of eccentricity for each player, is actually the accumulation of 1000s of hours of repetition, cultivating of the their own process, which ultimately works and delivers consistent results for each of these top professional golfers. What I also noticed, was that every single one of them had differing pre swing routine, yet the outcomes were pretty similar, a white ball majestically sailing off into the distance above grass so perfect you couldn’t comb it any neater. What you also can’t deny is that Bryson’s swing (the biggest hitter) is the one that looks the most radically different to the rest! I often see a similar thing in business. Every now and then, some one comes along and steps out to try doing things very differently, and gets a much better result💪 So long and we remain outcomes focused, it’s okay if we build our own differing ways of achieving results. In fact, simply trying to replicate others may be limiting. The biggest leaps in progress in anything usually occur when someone is brave enough to step out to try something totally different. So take some risks, develop some different wiggles, what might seem a little far out now my turn out to be the next big thing everyone wants to copy.

⚡️USE THIS SYSTEM TO CONTROL YOUR DISTANCE WEDGES⚡️ One of the quickest ways to improve your scores is to get better at controlling distance with your wedges. A lot of us have heard of the clock system, which is by using different backswing lengths to hit different yardages with your wedges⛳️ However, as an athlete, it is hard to gage how far you take the club back and causes you to lose focus on the target which is most important. So instead of using the clock system, I encourage you to use different stance widths to control your wedge yardages👊🏾 This is so effective because you can control your yardage just by changing your setup. 🚨 Week 15: Docuseries with Courtenay 🚨 This week with my equestrian athlete Courtenay, we focused on two essential areas for riders: hip internal rotation and scapular motion. When riding, your hips are responsible for controlling balance, absorbing shock, and maintaining a strong connection with the horse. Hip internal rotation is vital for smooth transitions and maintaining stability in the saddle. Limited hip mobility can lead to discomfort, imbalance, and even injury. The scapula (shoulder blade) plays a huge role in upper body posture and control. When you’re holding the reins and guiding the horse, having full control of your scapula allows for better arm movement, stability, and endurance during long rides.
