#Ariane6 build for first testflight from the French Guyana launch base. A date for the first flight is coming up soon. Norwegian industry provides components and #Ariane6 includes parts made in #Horten, #Kongsberg and #Raufoss by #Kongsberg and #Nammo. The value pr flight for Norwegian industry is abt 10 MNOK dependent on the numbers of boosters. #Ariane6 F1 has two boosters. The more powerful versions has 4 boosters.

"The Roc is expected to be recycled for another launch attempt with TA-1 in March and is also likely to be used for additional flight envelope expansion work as the company prepares the follow-on vehicles TA-2 and TA-3 for flight. Both are reusable and designed to recover for landing at Vandenberg SFB after Mach 5-plus flights. Stratolaunch is also developing two sets of modifications for the company's recently acquired Boeing 747-400, which was formerly used as a launch platform by Virgin Orbit. 'We're getting it ready for Talon-A, which is our custom release system which is just a match for the Roe release system,' CEO and President Zachary Krevor says. 'We're also doing some work for our customer to modify it so it can carry a release system that's compatible with the U.S. Air Force B-52. We will never replace the B-52. Our goal is just to augment and contribute and help when a need may arise,' he adds." #aerospaceanddefense #hypersonic #nationalsecurity #letsroc #stratolaunch

First flying in 1969 after a development effort that began in 1956, this aircraft was the result of a collaboration between Britain and France. Flying at up to 60,000 feet at a speed of Mach 2, it could fly the Atlantic routes in half the time a conventional airliner could. Its delta wing was optimized for supersonic flight, but also provided a large amount of vortex lift at the low speeds associated with take-off and landing (and probably a fair amount of drag!). Although its four Rolls-Royce/SNECMA Olympus turbojets had afterburners (or reheat, as it is called in the UK), it was capable of supercruise when in flight. Twenty of these beautiful aircraft were built and they were a commercial success until 2000, when declining demand after a crash in Paris and rising operating expenses combined to eventually cause its withdrawal from service in 2003. #supersonicflight #reheat #vortexlift #aeronautics #jetengines #aviationhistory #aviationhistoryanddoodles

Studying at 39000ft is very impressive the information you read is no longer face any drag. To be a flying spanner beside being a Technical service will generate that scene each flight. #Study_During_Flight #CFM #TIME_MANAGEMENT #POWERPLANT_ENGINEERING #EGYPTAIR #B737_800 #BOEING

Thanks for watching AeroBuzz, the only channel bringing actual quality to Aviation on YouTube! Russia’s MC-21 is set to become a major player in the aviation industry, but the choice of engine could have taken it in a completely different direction. Now, imagine if things had gone another way. Could the MC-21 have been even more efficient with a different engine? What if the unique Kuznetsov NK-93 propfan had been chosen to power the skies instead of the modern PD-14 jet engine? Which engine truly fits Russia’s ambitious vision for the MC-21. Let’s delve into these questions in today’s episode. #AeroBuzz #KuznetsovNK93 #PD14Engine #MC21Aircraft #AviationTechnology #RussianAerospace https://lnkd.in/dzxvD43H https://lnkd.in/dvWQQmyn

Our Innovation Hub is gearing up for a 🚀 #HAO higher airspace operations simulation with the Italian CAA! 🇮🇹 👉 A real-time simulation project for #HAO and commercial suborbital flights in Italian airspace kicked off last week at #EIH the EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub as part of a special agreement between ENAC - Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazione Civile (the Italian CAA) and EUROCONTROL. The project team, composed of ENAC representatives led by Giovanni Di Antonio, FRAeS, Director of Technological Innovation, alongside personnel from ENAV (the Italian #ANSP air navigation service provider) and Aeronautica Militare (the Italian Air Force), met to define the operational scope of the simulation. 🚀 The simulation aims to explore the accommodation of suborbital transport operations in Italian airspace, including the future Grottaglie Spaceport. It is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025, and will be performed in close cooperation with the SESAR 3 ECHO 2 project and the EUROCONTROL #NM Network Manager's iNEO strategic project. The collaboration 🤝 between ENAC, ENAV, Aeronautica Militare and EUROCONTROL represents a concrete commitment to enabling new modes of aerospace transportation in Italy. The project will leverage the EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub's simulation platforms, aligning with our strategic objective to first accommodate & then integrate new entrants into airspace. 👉 More info: Stefano Tiberia

This photo, from a booklet of “Concorde Facts” highlights some of the advantages of Concorde. ✈️ This graph comparing a flight to the US on Concorde and a flight to the US in a subsonic jet shows how the difference in flight time actually splits up into in-flight activity for the passenger. 📸BAE Systems

Ten years and several investigations later, a consensus of sorts has emerged. A fragmented set of clues in the sky, of radar pings and radio signals, have become dots on a map. Together, these dots can be joined. They trace not only the flight path, but also the circumstances of the greatest aviation mystery of the 21st century: the disappearance of flight MH370
What really happened to flight MH370? The key theories evaluated

Dette blir spennende. Jeg håper virkelig Ariane 6 endelig kan bli en suksess, en god del år på etterskudd, og at vi kan få en god bærerakett for fremtidige «missions» i ESAs vitenskapsprogram.
