We are pleased to share the 2023-2024 impact report demonstrating the progress of our partnership with FoodWise! The year 2023-2024 has been significant for our Food Donation Program, with now 20 out of 27 restaurants participating in this initiative and 21 benefiting NGOs. The numbers speak for themselves! Earlier this year, we were named the Number 1 Most Frequent Food Donor for 2023, and the latest figures from the impact report show that we are on right track in our fight against food waste, which would not have been possible without our employees and FoodWise! #KFCMauritius #FoodWise #ImpactReport #SocialResponsibility

SBM can help your company serve up hope in the community. We’re proud to work with clients to build and support leftover food donation programs. In nearly every community, there are families facing challenges putting food on the table. According to the USDA, more than 34 million Americans are food insecure. Through our partnerships, we help clients donate leftover food to charitable organizations, turning potential waste into valuable resources for those in need.  Many believe that donating food for human consumption exposes organizations to liability. In reality, the Bill Emerson Food Donation Act of 1996 protects organizations that donate both perishable and nonperishable food in good faith.  Not only does donating surplus food help connect an organization to the community in which they operate, but it also satisfies a credit under the TRUE Certification for Zero Waste program. For support in establishing donation programs, we guide clients in collaborating with local food banks or food rescue organizations. What does it mean to be #OneBottlelessNation? It means aligning our businesses and charitable donations with companies and organizations that encourage the reduction of plastic waste and responsible living practices, all while addressing the clean water crisis that many communities face. Being One Bottleless Nation means coming behind these initiatives to help better our world both from an eco-friendly standpoint and a philanthropic one. To be a part of Bottleless Nation is to be a part of something that impacts the present and the future.

It is critical to bring awareness to the issue of food waste and how increasing food donation efforts can be key to hit emissions reduction goals. Yet, only 21 countries have included FLW in their nationally determined contribution (NDC) plans, much less food donation. In this webinar, we convened stakeholders across the globe in a discussion about the importance of national strategies to reduce FLW and increase food donation, in partnership with The Global FoodBanking Network.
