If you’ve attended avalanche training, or worse, had to use it, you’ll know how little time you have to locate and extract the person trapped under the snow before it’s too late. The folks at Safeback & EKER DESIGN have come up with a way to extend the air supply of the person trapped post-abalanche from the usual 15 minutes, to 90 minutes. Years of prototyping and refining the SBX system have led us to our current design: a robust and simple snow safety tool that is always armed for deployment in case of an avalanche. The system is streamlined in its design, with only 3 moving parts for the user to interact with: the trigger handle to activate the system, the Test/Off button on the bottom of the device, and the Battery compartment. Because the power draw on the system is negligible when the system isn't running, there is no need for an on/off switch to ensure that the product is ready for use. So long as batteries are installed, the system will start when you pull the trigger, and only stop when either the batteries die after 90 minutes or when the system is manually turned off.

Let’s talk about Ground Reaction Force (GRF). The simplest way to define it is through Albert Eistein’s theory of relativity: “For every action there is a complete and opposite reaction”. How does this apply to your swing? When we swing, we apply force to the ground. This force is counteracted by the ground itself but the energy generated is not simply lost. Some part of it will be injected into the golf swing as club head speed directly results from the players’ body movements.
