🎉 Huge shout out to Olivia Ang, our trailblazing mentor at Sales School! She is fiercely passionate about teaching and giving back to the tech sales community as felt by our students at Sales School. In less than a year Olivia moved from an SDR to a Partnership Manager and now most recently relocated to Australia to work remotely 🦘 Now, let's dive into Olivia's story: 💡 Why tech-sales? Flexible working arrangements, great earning potential, results-based recognition, and being able to tap into my innate skills ⭐ What is your north-star that helps you to show up everyday? Independence is something that’s extremely important to me. I remind myself that I am only limited by how much hard work I’m willing to put in. 🎯 What is your biggest tip you will leave behind for any existing sales reps out there? Lots of people are in tech sales for the money but ask yourself - how long could you keep up with the rigour if it wasn’t just for the remuneration? Are the skills required of a salesperson something that you genuinely enjoy utilising and honing? We wish her continued success in her role, and keep inspiring more people ❤️

I help strategic SaaS sellers become millionaires using design & systems thinking (w/o sacrificing their well-being). Get started w/ the links in my featured section
From 2018 - 22, I earned $3,843,695 in tech sales. But I didn’t live a multi-million-dollar lifestyle. The goal was to get so rich I could quit. Not just the corporate rat race, but quit 3 things: - Defining my self-worth through leaderboards - Working on projects that didn’t bring joy - Sacrificing the things that matter Instead of jumping into building a sales coaching empire, I freed myself up to run a “calm company.” At this stage, it feels like work that I want to do forever. I am free to: - Write about things I care about - Engage with people I admire - Design work around my life If I’m honest, I thought like this throughout my career. I always endeavored to turn my work into play. But here’s a fact: As long as someone owns your calendar, it will be impossible to have the full freedom to do what you want, when you want, with who you want. Here’s another fact: There is no better role in the corporate world to accelerate this journey to full autonomy than sales, especially strategic tech sales. If this sounds interesting to you, join 4,000 other awesome pros turning their sales career into freedom on their terms: https://buff.ly/37s8flb 🐝 P.S. Wednesdays are now reserved for the week’s most important meeting…the one with my bike.

Sales Leader @ WFX PLM - helping 100's of 🧵 Fashion Brands 🚀 | RevOps & GTM Specialist 🔥 | Inspiring success in careers 💰 relationships 👩❤️👨 & self discovery ✨ |
Getting fired from my first SaaS Software Sales role… Was the best thing that ever happened to me. But not for the reason you’d expect. In 2015, I pivoted into tech by joining a VC-backed 🚀 They just closed a $32M series B. Living in Cali, the new gig was based in my hometown NYC, so I was also excited about living bi-coastal and seeing more of my friends and family. At the time I had no idea how to sell software 🙈 No idea how to scratch at my prospects' pain points and lead them through the process. Learning by trial and error, I “ramped up” but was far from hitting my quota. When my boss put me on "plan" it was a difficult conversation but I grew from it. Like the song, “should I stay or should I go”, I weighed my options. In order to save my job, I would have to somehow close EVERYTHING in my pipeline, And cancel a trip to Chile for a best friend's wedding. Instinctively, I knew this wasn’t going to happen. So instead, I took a severance package, and extended the Chile trip from one to three weeks. At the same time, I reconnected with Mike Emanuel, whom I met months earlier on an airplane And decided to join him in selling PLM software for WFX - World Fashion Exchange. Instead of living bi-coastal, I started living GLOBALLY I went from working on rooftops in NYC to the beaches of Chile, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina and eventually spending more time in Europe, where I’ve spent much of the last 4 years. And with mentorship and refining my sales skills, I quickly hit my numbers ✅ Technically, I guess I wasn’t “fired” from that first sales job. I took the money, took the new job, and ran… towards what turned out to be a new and better life. Have you ever been in a similar situation? How did you handle it? #sales #careertransformation #careerjourney #gettingfired

Founder @ The Revenue Enabler | 2x VP Sales | Sales Training That Get's Results [Read Recommendations Below]
One of the things that helped me go from SDR to VP Sale by age 30? Work ethic - I didn’t finish school with very good grades - Didn’t go to college - No Masters degree I also didn’t have many opportunities growing up. But... I put 150% into everything I do regarding my career. We can all work hard. I worked very long days and weekends. And I rarely burnt out. Because I love my job. And wanted to build a great life for me and my family. I’m slowing down for the next 12-18 months to enjoy some quality time with my partner and our 6 month boy. Then I’ll fire things up again. If you’re just getting into sales and reading this. 1. Enjoy the journey 2. Stop looking for the silver bullet 3. Find out what the A+ reps do 4. Copy them 5. Outwork them If you've been in sales for a while and not getting the success you want, before you break and build the process Ask yourself... Am I working my arse off daily and leaving everything on the pitch? - If the answer is no, I'd fix that problem first. - If the answer is yes, it might be time to get yourself a coach or some new skills. What's one thing that really helped you?

Account Executive at Beauhurst | Top 50 UK BDR (Sales Confidence) | Art Lover/Painter | Scot in London 🏴
A month into Beauhurst and thank god my onboarding has been going better than my bowling As any salesperson will know, onboarding means building pipeline 📈 I've never had the chance to actually sell a platform that benefits sales teams and therefore use it myself 🤓 Not only that, but I've been prospecting recruitment and software companies and speaking to people who get the challenges that we all face in commercial roles 💼 Here's a few things that have been working for me: 💛 Voicenotes! I've been calling and emailing too, but what seems to really be working are voicenotes with my connections on LinkedIn. Fellow salespeople respect the different approach, you only have a minute to get to the point, and you can only send them to connections so you've already got that level of acceptance 💛 Gong calls Watching the teams sales calls and after they carry out discovery, pause the recording and have a think about how you would proceed, whether that's how you would demo the product, what questions you would ask, or if you'd qualify out. Then you can unpause and compare to what happened in the live call Shoutout to David for the tip 💛 Beauhurst Would be a bit rude of me to not mention the newest tool that I'm adding to my outbound repertoire Accessing company data all in one place so I can use triggers like funding rounds, features on high growth lists, and just general news has made my personalisation much speedier 🏎️ That's all for now, but if you want to learn anymore about how your team can benefit from hidden data then give me a message. This pipeline isn't going to build itself! 🫡

LinkedIn Top Voice | Top 50 Keynote Speakers in #Sales | Helps Re-humanize the sales process to increase win rates and CX: Author of Heart and Sell | #BeMoreSellMore
I started my career as an SDR (before they even called it that). My job was to book appointments for mostly older, male sellers. One day, I asked my boss, Jake, what steps I needed to take to become a full-fledged, customer-facing salesperson. His response? "You’ll never make it. It’s not in your DNA. Be happy you have a job and learn to do it well." 👀 Fast forward a few years: Not only did I land a sales role at another company, but I also rose to VP of Sales, leading my team to become #1 in the country! 💪 Three years later, I started my own training company with a mission: To lift others up, give them the skills, frameworks, and, most importantly, the confidence to excel – to unleash their hidden potential. Flash forward to the early 2000s: I was conducting a sales training in Orlando. Over 600 sellers, managers, and sales leaders showed up. The line to get in stretched outside the building. It sold out. 🚀 At the break, one of the front-line managers, Penelope, ran up to me. "I think you know my colleague, Jake," she said. "Yes," I replied. "He says he taught you everything you know!" 😂 "Is he here?" I asked. "Oh no, our company only sent upper management. He’s a front line manager now," she said. "Please tell him I said hello," I responded. Key Lessons: ✨ Don’t believe the critics. When they say you can’t, fight harder. ✨ Be kind. Your friends on the way up are the same on the way down. ✨ Trust in yourself. You are capable of doing more than you think. (Side note: Jake has referred me many times since then.) 😏 #throwbackthursday, #Nevergiveup, #heartandsell, #salesmotivation

💡Front line sales manager tip of the week💡 Send your team a slack / email first thing Monday morning. It should be a mix of: - fun (weekend recap) - inspiration (how close we are to quota) - set the tone for the week (expectations and goals for the week ahead) Especially in a remote setting, communication is a MUST to get your team to operate at a high level. Great idea to craft this Sunday night as you plan your goals for the week. And don’t forget to bcc / forward to your boss. If you have aspirations for advancement, upward visibility is key! Follow Revenue Pilot for more best practices!

Hey it's Trystan. One year ago today I did something scary. I quit my job to start a business. Why did I start this business? I spent years as a sales manager, training and helping building multi-million dollar sales teams. It was a rewarding experience, but there was a persistent struggle gnawing at me. Despite the success, I saw countless things I wanted to change within the company, but the harsh reality was that it wasn't mine to change. Burnout and exhaustion began to set in. The passion I had for sales was being overshadowed by the limitations and bureaucracy of working for someone else. That's when the idea struck. Why not build something of my own? So, with my best friend Mike Lafontant by my side, we made the bold decision to quit our full time job and start a company. Our goal? To help passionate business owners who serve their customers with dedication to sell confidently. That's why we founded MLTK Sales. At MLTK Sales, we excel in three core areas. Sales Starter Program. In just 6 weeks, we teach business owners how to close more deals and transform their sales approach. Sales Playbooks. We craft tailored sales playbooks that provide companies with a structured, effective sales process. Sales Team Readiness. We prepare companies to hire and integrate top-notch salespeople, setting the stage for sustained growth. This is more than a business. It's our mission. We're here to empower business owners to achieve their sales potential, just like we did. BTW thank you to Nandini Ramu for the incredible photo shoot. Absolutely great experience. Never thought I could look as good as I feel.
