I am pleased to announce (actually bit of an understatement) that on Friday I received the examination results for my PhD "Passed subject to minor revision". A good part of the weekend was spent undertaking the revisions. I want to thank my Supervisors Allan Trench and Steffen Hagemann for their guidance and encouragement. For those interested the PhD is titled "Insights into the economic cost structure of gold mining: from All-in Sustaining Costs to quantifying externalities". It is comprised of three published papers. 1. Grade-cost relationships within Australian underground gold mines – A 2014–2017 empirical study and potential value implications. 2. Greenhouse gas emissions and production cost footprints in Australian gold mines. 3. Gold mining greenhouse gas emissions, abatement measures, and the impact of a carbon price. Have an awesome week 😎.
Incredible - well done Sam what a labour of love! I am definitely coming to you for a pep talk and inspiration when I need it!
Great work Sam - Been a great enjoyment supervising such wonderful studies. The grade-cost underground relationships piece has massive implications for M&A valuation of gold assets that the industry has not yet fully worked out (as best I can tell anyway). That, and the GHG emissions research absolutely outstanding. 🙂
Congratulations
Sounds very interesting, do you have a link for download? I Would love a copy
Nice piece of work-some good research in there for sure.
Congratulations Sam
did you look at the copper-gold systems, including those with caving mining methods?
Congratulations Sam
Must be such a relief and sense of achievement, congratulations! I am very keen to have a read. Also nice to see the support of Allan Trench who I was lucky to meet on the panel at UWA for Mining Leaders Scholarships in another life!
