Our Community Spotlight with Shelly Miles! On one side of the bridge lies the San Antonio stray population—hundreds of cats and dogs wandering the streets looking for a warm spot to rest or their next meal. The path to a forever home is on the other side of the bridge. Wendy Black, Founder and President of Footbridge Foundation, is trying to make that bridge accessible to more animals each year. Wendy created Footbridge Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, in 2017 after realizing she could help more animals find forever homes if she recruited more animal lovers like herself. Over the last seven years, Footbridge Foundation, along with the dedicated help of donors, fosters, and volunteers, has saved the lives of thousands of dogs and cats. Empathy with our community at Hyperion Materials & Technologies Mexico Site: Supporting Local Animal Shelters!! As we do every month, we recently hosted our vibrant Hyperion Entrepreneur Bazaar. This time, we incorporated a meaningful auction featuring items that were once part of Hyperion but are no longer in use. The funds raised, alongside additional donations, were proudly contributed to Salvando Huellitas Naucalpan, a dedicated shelter for animals. Salvando Huellitas Naucalpan, founded four years ago by a group of compassionate neighbors in Naucalpan, provides a safe haven for 32 vulnerable puppies. Their primary focus is on helping pregnant street dogs by fostering both the mothers and their puppies until they are adopted and sterilized. Participating in initiatives like this brings me immense satisfaction, knowing that I can help animals facing the harsh realities of street life. Unfortunately, this is an all-too-common issue we witness around our site. As Monica from the shelter reminded us, each of us has the power to make a difference by changing the life of a dog through support and adoption. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Eduardo F. our Managing Director and to all our colleagues (Magdalena Cervantes R, Oscar Main, etc) who contributed by donating kibble, cleaning supplies, and more. The funds raised will be directed toward vaccinating these beautiful beings with such pure hearts. In my eyes, there is no creature more loyal than a dog. From a young age, I have felt a strong sensitivity toward helping animals in need, especially those left to fend for themselves due to human neglect. I am grateful once again for the support and engagement from the Mexico site. Together, we can make a significant impact in any area we choose to focus on. #dogshelters #sensitivity #impact #engagement #corevalues #entrepeneurbazaar #viralpost #foryou #socialresponsability

#DidYouKnow that every year, 920,000 shelter animals are needlessly euthanized in shelters nationwide due to overpopulation, with TEXAS ranking #2 in the most overpopulated state? That number breaks down to 530,000 cats and 390,000 dogs. Local shelters face overpopulation, decreased in-person volunteers, and reduced adoption events. Can’t adopt right now? Did you know that approximately 35% of the world's dogs and cats are homeless? 😢 Sadly, recent world conflicts and natural disasters have only increased the number of displaced animals in need. On International Homeless Animals Day, we want to shine a light on the millions of animals around the world who face life without a home Every animal dreams of a warm, loving home, and we want to make that a reality for as many as possible. But we can't do it alone… You can help us save more precious lives by: - Making a donation: your donations are lifesaving, no matter how big or small! - (if you live in Sweden, Switzerland or UK where ROLDA has teams to coordinate and supervise adoptions) or fostering (if you live in the UK): by adopting or fostering, you're saving two lives—giving an animal a second chance and creating space in our shelters to save another. Visit ROLDA website to help us make a difference #homeless #animals #home #givehope #foster #secondchance #adoptions #rescue #savelives

One of the best parts of my job at MainStreet Bank is telling the story of how this community-focused bank makes a difference locally. And one of the coolest parts of how we do that is through an employee-directed giving program, Making Change. This program flips the script on corporate giving, putting donations in the hands of our team members. Here's the first in a series of stories we're telling:

❗️BIPOC-led nonprofits like mine receive just 4% of funding of white-led organizations (yes, you read that right: f-o-u-r percent!). This Giving Tuesday, support APEX Advocacy to empower BIPOC-led initiatives and voices that advocate for the liberation of all beings. 🖤✊🏽🐄🌱 APEX’s goal this December is $20,000. What’s more, a generous donor has agreed to match the first $5,000 in donations! You can double your impact for animals and their BIPOC advocates by donating today - what's better than that?! 🤑 ➡️ Studies consistently show that revenues of the Black-led organizations are 24 percent smaller than the revenues of white-led organizations in the same industry. What’s more, unrestricted funding of the Black-led organizations is 76 percent smaller than their white-led counterparts. 💚 Your support can help undo this disparity, leveling the field for BIPOC-led animal advocacy. “No one is free when others are oppressed.” This isn’t just a slogan. This is the guiding principle behind all of APEX Advocacy’s work. There are a lot of worthy causes you can support. But APEX is dedicated to the liberation of all beings – both human and beyond-human. That’s the vision APEX is working to realize. With your support, APEX can help create a new force of social justice advocates who harness the power of BIPOC wisdom and experience to position animal liberation at the heart of all social justice efforts. Donate to APEX this Giving Tuesday—a day when charity and solidarity join forces for the greater good. No amount is too small. Support via https://lnkd.in/gf9k39iQ.

Partner with Friends of Ferals: Strengthen Your CSR and Protect Our Shelter At Friends of Ferals, our mission extends beyond rescuing cats—we're building a community rooted in compassion and security. We invite your company to enhance its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by supporting our urgent need for improved shelter security. The Challenge: Our shelter recently faced a serious security breach when a former employee, under the influence, assaulted our founder and later set a veld fire at our shelter. Thankfully, no lives were lost, but this incident highlighted the need for stronger security to protect our shelter and the 152 cats in our care. Our Goal: We aim to raise R160,000 to secure our 260-meter perimeter with robust fencing. With R10,488 already raised, we still need significant support. How Your Company Can Help: * Financial Support: Direct donations will help us quickly secure the most vulnerable areas. * In-Kind Contributions: Expertise, materials, or services from companies in fencing, security, or construction would be invaluable. * Employee Engagement: Encourage employees to participate through fundraising, matching donations, or volunteering. By partnering with us, your company will not only demonstrate a commitment to community safety and animal welfare but also strengthen its brand through visible support of a meaningful cause. Guided by King IV on corporate citizenship and the African concept of Ubuntu, we believe in the interdependence of organizations and society. Your support will help us create a safer, more compassionate future. Join Us in Building a Stronger Future: Your partnership will be critical in creating a secure environment for our shelter. LOVE this example of a peer-to-peer campaign for animals: take notes everyone 🗒️ One of my clients, Australian Animal Protection Society launched their annual "Snores for Paws" event, where staff and volunteers come together to spend a night in the kennels with the pups 🐕 Here are a few of the things about this peer-to-peer campaign that I love: ☑️The activity is cause-related and mission-aligned: living the dogs' experience is a powerful message. ☑️ Each ambassador will participate in a collective event at the end: great team building opportunity! ☑️ Their fundraising objective has a concrete project: purchasing a transport van 🚐 ☑️ There are incentives to donate, supporting ambassadors in their efforts (a trip to the Hayman Islands 🏝️😍) ☑️They have mobilized many ambassadors (44!), including sponsors, to reach their objective. If you are thinking of launching a peer-to-peer campaign, these are some of the things you need to plan BEFORE launching the campaign: 1️⃣ A long list of ambassadors 2️⃣ Matching donors or sponsors 3️⃣ Incentives or mobilizing activities to boost participation 4️⃣ A concrete objective attached to your fundraising goal I was happy to support Megan Benton, the AAPS Executive Director, in reaching her objective and hopefully winning a trip to a tropical island 🤞! If ever you want to support this campaign and help some Australian pups, I invite you to donate at the link in the comments below ⬇️
