In honoring Pride Month, our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is something we value and is always at the forefront of our minds. Pride Month offers us a special opportunity to reaffirm our support for our LGBTQIA+ members, employees, and the broader community. This month SFFCU, in partnership with the San Francisco Bay Times, will be participating in the pride parade with a float to support our LGBTQIA+ community. With over fifty-thousand participants, the annual San Francisco Pride Parade celebrates its 54th year of advocacy and activism. We hope to see you there! #PrideMonth #SanFranciscoPrideParade #PrideParade #Pride

Happy Pride Month! 🌈 As we celebrate Pride Month, it's important to bring awareness to the challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community. Many individuals find themselves in situations and workplaces where they aren't sure if they will be welcomed, accepted, or even safe. This month serves as a reminder that our support and advocacy should extend beyond these 30 days and be part of our everyday lives. I love seeing the rainbow logos everywhere - it brings me hope. But Pride Month isn't just about one month of recognition. It’s about showing continuous support and being active allies. It's about fostering an environment where everyone, regardless of their identity, feels safe and valued. It's essential to amplify voices across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum and work towards a future where everyone can live authentically without fear. Let's use this month to educate, support each other, and build inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive. 🏳️🌈💪 #PrideMonth #Inclusion #Advocacy

As we have officially ended June, it is important to acknowledge that Pride is each and every day. 🌈 Our LGBTQIA+ community is truly an intersectional community. It is filled with all races, ethnicities, disabilities, neurodiversity, faiths, and so much more. As a result of all of these intersections, there are massive impacts on what is currently happening politically in our country. We cannot ignore or separate these intersections, making the advocacy for ALL. 🌈 We all need to be making Pride a part of our every day experience. It may feel hard to figure out how to do this...there are so many of us out there that can help! ➡ Have your Safe Space, Rainbow, or Ally stickers out all year ➡ Follow all of the impacts on the community throughout the year ➡ Take steps of action - voting, writing your legislators, hosting supports, and so much more - throughout the year ➡ Ally's, remember that the LGBTQIA+ community can't stop thinking about these things or creating safety around them...to be a true ally, that is an important part for you to do as well. ➡ Address phobic rhetoric, statements, phobic organizations, and organizations that are performative allyship. 🌈 We CAN make change. We CAN stop these harmful experiences. WE CAN'T do that alone. 🌈 Let's make Pride an every day experience. #Pride #PrideMonth #PrideIsAllYear #PrideIsEveryday #StrengthInPride #InThisTogether #WeCantDoThisAlone #Ally #Community #MakingChange #Advocating #Activism #Advocacy #MTS #MaveriqueTherapeuticServices

At North West Rubber, we believe that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and respected. This Pride Month, we’re celebrating the LGBTQIA2+ community and reaffirming our commitment to our core value: respect for all. While Pride Month is a time for celebration, it is also an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing challenges faced by the LGBTQIA2+ community. Despite significant progress, many individuals still encounter discrimination, violence, and legal inequalities. In many parts of the world, LGBTQIA2+ people continue to fight for basic human rights and acceptance. Advocacy is a crucial component of Pride Month. It serves as a reminder that the fight for equality is far from over. From supporting LGBTQIA2+ organizations to participating in advocacy efforts, everyone can play a role in promoting equality and justice. Today, we speak out to show our support, spread awareness, and advocate for those whose voices are not heard. #PrideMonth #RespectForAll #Inclusion #Diversity #LoveIsLove

Supporting LGBTQIA+ communities goes much deeper than just 'acceptance'; it involves understanding and addressing systemic issues hindering social and environmental progress. 🌿 In a recent article Fleurie and I wrote for Stronger Stories, we explore the intersection of LGBTQIA+ rights and environmental justice. To help organisations navigate these complex intersections, we've used the Lean Story Canvas to offer a structured approach to integrating LGBTQIA+ advocacy into your sustainability strategy. Is your organisation up to the challenge? 👀 🌈 Full article here: https://lnkd.in/eKZGgvXu

Organizing is a potent force for marginalized communities, offering them a vital avenue to amplify their voices and catalyze meaningful change. By uniting individuals who share common concerns and aspirations, organizing empowers these communities to advocate for their rights, challenge systemic injustices, and build collective power. Through organizing, marginalized groups can create solidarity, forge networks of support, and implement concrete solutions to address the challenges they face. It fosters a sense of community and agency, enabling individuals to take control of their own destinies and work towards a more equitable and inclusive society. Ultimately, organizing serves as a beacon of hope, demonstrating the transformative potential of collective action in the pursuit of justice and equality. #SocialJustice #CommunityOrganizing #Empowerment #Solidarity #Equity #Activism #MarginalizedVoices #CollectiveAction #ChangeMakers #Inclusion #Advocacy #GrassrootsMovement #PowerToThePeople #Equality #JusticeForAll

"Engaging in advocacy is a shared responsibility to enhance our communal spaces. The good news is, it doesn't have to be arduous." Guest writer, Ry Shissler (Founder and Executive Director of They Cycle), outlines what advocacy can look like for you, such as: 💻️ Sharing a well-written article to introduce new ideas ✋️ Raising a hand in a work meeting to question accessibility or equity 🔎 Using a search engine to find organizations that can advocate on your behalf 💰️ Signing up for newsletters, following on social media, and making donations to relevant organizations ✍️ Adding your name to petitions and using provided forms to email elected officials While advocacy work can come with challenges, especially when dealing with ignorance, dismissiveness, or hate - it can also be fun to advocate for something you're passionate about! Whether you're a supporter of queer cyclists in sports, gender equitable cities, or something else entirely, we encourage you to take action in ways that work best for you. 📣✊️ Learn why "Advocacy is for Everyone" and more strategies to engage in advocacy in our latest blog. 📸: Ry Shissler #Advocacy #CommunityEngagement

PrideVMC Spotlight: Meet Jenevieve Price, BVM&S (she/her)! 🐾Your role in #vetmed? I am a Group Medical Director for BluePearl Pet Hospital, overseeing incredible and diverse hospitals in TX, OK, MO, and KS. 👌🏾Why is proactively sharing pronouns (eg on email sigs, zoom profiles, stethoscope clips, etc) important? I want others to know that they are safe to be authentically themselves with me, and also that I am working to be authentic with them as well. 🎶Your walk-in song? "Training Montage" by The Mountain Goats' - nothing more satisfying than scream-singing "I'M DOING THIS FOR REVENGE" whenever I am doing something hard! 🏳️⚧️In what way have you been impacted by the current unprecedented and horrific anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and rhetoric? As a queer woman, a mom to queer kids, and the spouse to a gender-nonconforming spouse, our whole family is so sad and horrified by the work being undone at every level in the fight for a safe, secure, and just world. I especially worry for the young queer, trans, and NB kids out there hearing this ugly and violent rhetoric at every turn, with no way to legally, safely access meaningful support. ❤️What solutions and safeguards have you, or do you plan to, implement in response to anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and legislation? I am fortunate to have a vast and deep network of friends and colleagues that are working toward solutions. I am active in local politics, especially working with young people to register them to vote and teach about how to determine who/what you want to vote for. I also volunteer with several queer youth and adult organizations, and have also joined a repro rights volunteer network. 🏳️🌈How have you been impacted by #PrideVMC? I love PrideVMC! The individuals with whom I have worked are kind, genuine, and hopeful, and are working their tails off to make the veterinary space safe and equitable! 👍🏾👍🏿👍Why are #Pride activities important to you? One, the sense of community and shared joy is such a profound antidote to the grim horror of the world around us. Two, the visibility around Pride events helps folks to see (even if they can't or don't want to participate) that a beautiful, celebratory world is possible. 🎉Is there anything related to National Coming Out Day (Oct 11) that you would like to share? My first couple of vet roles were not in especially welcoming communities, so I didn't feel comfortable being out at work until I was a clinician at a large VCA hospital in 2016. When my colleagues began sharing their Pride plans and decor, I gradually felt safer to share my own identity, and by the time I moved to another clinic in 2019, I was proudly out at work. 💗Favorite #quote? "All of these lines across my face/ tell you the story of who I am/ so many stories of where I've been, and how I got to where I am." - Brandi Carlile 🏳️⚧️ 🐾🏳️🌈 #vetmedpride #spotlight #veterinary #prideSvmc #pridevmc #bettertogether #allyship #inclusivity
