Conflict is inevitable in any leadership role. In fact, it is often impossible to avoid if you really want to make a difference in your organization. Navigating it creates so much anxiety in us because we are afraid of hurting our reputation, failing, or ending relationships. As women in leadership, conflict is even more tricky because we are expected to behave and act in a friendly and likable way. This feels like the opposite of conflict, doesn’t it? In this engaging and empowering program, KJ McNamara helps audience to dive into why we are so triggered by conflict as well as explore different approaches and tools that help us find a resolution. Today, KJ is with our Partner of the Year, Northwestern State University, to share her message of "How To Fight Fair: Navigating Conflict as a Woman in Leadership." It was truly an honor to participate in Latino Leaders Magazine C-Suite and Board Directors Forum last week, immersing myself in a community of inspiring individuals. During the event, I had the privilege of engaging in a fireside chat with @JorgeFerraez, the co-founder and publisher of Latino Leaders Magazine, where we delved into the crucial topic of leadership and drew insights from my 35-year journey at the helm of The Hollister Group.   Something I’ve been thinking about since last week, is it’s essential to recognize our shared humanity amidst this chaotic world. We are all on a quest to evolve into the best version of ourselves. The cornerstone of this journey is self-awareness—an indispensable tool for identifying our blind spots and fostering continuous growth. For me, the pursuit of self-awareness is not a destination but an ongoing journey. It's a reminder that, left unchecked, we may inadvertently perpetuate patterns that no longer serve what we are up to in our lives.    I truly feel self-awareness is one of the most critical leadership traits to work on as it can be a true game changer. In doing so, we contribute not only to our personal growth but also to a world that will undoubtedly benefit the growth of our families, communities, and organizations. 

Changing health outcomes begins with innovation and change-making. Transforming health through access to nature is powerful.
