True G-code simulation in CNC CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software is critically important for several reasons: - Accurate Toolpath Validation True G-code simulation replicates the exact toolpath that the CNC machine will follow. This ensures that the simulated cuts match the actual behavior of the machine, preventing potential errors that might occur if only an idealized or CAM-level simulation is used. - Collision Detection It helps identify potential collisions between the tool, workpiece, machine components, fixtures, or clamps. True G-code simulation ensures the post-processed code is correct and fully compatible with the specific machine, preventing unexpected results due to discrepancies in machine configurations. By simulating the actual G-code, machinists and engineers can ensure that the program will run as expected on the physical CNC machine, which is essential for precision, safety, and cost-efficiency.
