We are happy to celebrate Kaitlin Rebella's second anniversary working with Uncommon Bold! Kaitlin has been absolutely incredible at handling strategic communications and brand execution with our clients. Her work is consistently praised for its quality and her commitment to client satisfaction. We asked Kaitlin a few questions to reflect on her time at Uncommon Bold so far, and these were their responses: (1) What has been your favorite part of working at Uncommon Bold? - The team! I'm so thankful for this group of thoughtful, talented, strategic, and above all - kind - professionals. (2) What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment thus far? - I have been so grateful for the opportunity to help our clients do big, ambitious, important and status quo-busting work. Whether it's breaking new ground in mental health treatments, shifting how people access and benefit from high value health care and social services, or driving health equity, I'm proud of the mission-driven work that prioritizes the social good. (3) What advice would you give yourself one year ago? - Trust the process. Creativity can be messy and slow, but giving space delivers better outcomes.

Marissa's post made me realize how important gratitude has become in my life. Looking at what is going right, even if it's something minuscule (like a spell checker -- thank you LI!!), helps me be more optimistic overall. As someone who has struggled with depression and definitely does not want to go back there, I am certain that my gratitude practice has helped pave the way for better mental health. That is NOT to say that I don't recognize the struggles that I have. I'm not interested in "only good vibes." Instead, I find it essential to define The Problem so that I can then determine The Solution. Chinese medicine shows that there cannot be light without darkness; they are two sides of the same coin. I am grateful for my struggles. If I don't recognize what I don't want, it's much more difficult to figure out what I do want.

This year, Range Telecommunications is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and I am celebrating my 10th year with the company as well. As I sit and reflect on my time here, I can't help but be grateful to our dedicated staff. When I took over as manager, the goal was always for us to be an extension of the business we answer for. I can say with 100% confidence that I would put our service up against any across the United States and it not only holds up but stands out. The level of professionalism that is shown by the 30 or so operators is unmatched, unique, and special. Everyone takes their job as a personal challenge to be the best version of themselves, coming off as a natural-sounding complement to the clients we serve. I've never micromanaged or scripted my employees to veer from who they are. I strongly believe that if everyone finds their voice, we have a diverse and unique group of individuals who can all bring something to the table. I am especially proud of our senior employees, who carried us through a pandemic and deserve more credit than they'll ever get. At a time when call volume increased by 50% as offices shut their doors, our senior operators put in extra time without complaint. It was an easy time to complain, too. When you have a collective group of people who say "How can I be part of the solution?" you not only survive a pandemic but come out thriving. The company has never done a ton of marketing. We don't cold call people begging for their business, we don't bombard people with emails and packets, we simply do a good job and rely on word of mouth. That word of mouth has been a half-a-century strategy that has spread across 30+ states. We believe every phone call we get from another funeral home, law office, or plumbing and heating company that does not use our service is an audition to showcase who we are. We hope that, through conversation, your experience calling one of OUR clients can turn you into a new client. Answering services are being bought out more and more, taken over by corporations that strip them of a once proud identity. We hope our family-owned business can continue to show businesses that good service is still not only stressed but a priority.

This year marks the third death anniversary of my former team leader, with whom I worked when I was in a Business Process Outsourcing Company. While some of us chose the work-from-home setup during the pandemic, she decided to continue working in the office. She was the only team leader who opted for this arrangement among other leaders and a few people from the customer success team. Unfortunately, several months later, she passed away due to COVID-19. 😥 She was single with no children, and she was her mother's only child, a senior citizen who is now left alone. 😳 Two things I learned: 📔 ❗ Prioritize health and safety. In challenging times, make decisions that prioritize well-being and family over other considerations. Make sure you assess and consider the risks associated with different work arrangements, especially during health crises, pandemic or not. ❗ No job or promotion is worth compromising one's well-being, especially during challenging times like that. What lessons have you learned from similar experiences in balancing work and family commitments?

They say time goes by in the blink of an eye – and the past decade certainly has! Today marks my 10-year anniversary at Bausch + Lomb and I couldn’t be more grateful for the lessons learned, moments shared and the amazing team of people (too many to tag) I get to work with every single day. Looking back, here 10 of the top things I’ve learned: 🏢 Transitioning from clinical care to industry was a rewarding challenge. While my experience in the military helped me adjust, the journey was far more complex – but it was beyond worth every step. 🫶Take advantage of opportunities to give back. I've had the pleasure of supporting locally and nationally, both for my own team and also for organizations like Community Hope, TerraCycle, Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, and others. One of the greatest things we can do is use our resources to help those in need. 💬 Feedback fuels progress. Giving and receiving even the smallest pieces of feedback add up into something much bigger, helping us be 1% better every day ✨ The potential to impact patients extends far beyond what we see. Being part of something bigger in a business-focused role has shown me the importance of our work and why it matters so much. 🤝 Mentorship is a two-way street. You’re never too experienced to learn from others – or too early in your career to share what you’ve learned. 💖 Make time for things that matter most. Improving eye care is important. So is being there for loved ones. No matter how busy life gets, always remember to put people first. 👩💼Never underestimate the power of a great coworker. I am lucky to have too many to count, but my partner-in-crime, Leslie Silva has had a tremendous impact on me and the work our team is doing across North America. 🥳 Celebrate every win. Work is a lot better when you have fun together and appreciate the journey along the way. 🌱 Growth happens when you push yourself beyond your comfort zone. The path isn’t straightforward and you have to rise to new challenges each day. From product development to marketing and so much more, each challenge has taught me something new. ➡️ When you think you’ve done all that you can, do a little more. The extra effort can make all the difference in the lives of patients and the doctors who count on us. While I can’t see the future, I do know that it will be just as bright, adventuresome, and inspiring as the past decade with B+L. Here’s to the next chapter of growth, learning, and new possibilities on the horizon! #Growth #EyeCare #Leadership Leslie Silva Dan Hook Dinesh Guglani Kristen Hovinga Keith Donley Daniel Gates John Ferris Kelly Curia-Schmidt Mary Teryek Kevin Fahy Mark Hennessy Michael Van de Ven Sean McNeill Ryan Beck, O.D.
