UPDATE: NASCAR HAS EXTENDED THE GIVEATHON!!! GAINBRIDGE, one of the primary NASCAR GIVEATHON sponsors, had $77,000 left over that they wanted to give out so they convinced the NASCAR Foundation to extend the GIVEATHON. So, NOW OUR PAGE IS BACK ON the GREEN FLAG is waving, allowing us to receive additional donations! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? $77,000 in matching donations are available until Sunday, May 19 at 10am or until these funds are gone. All 350 participating non-profits are eligible for this matching opportunity. All donations that come in to our non-profit's donation page will be matched up to $500 per donation. Nike uses the same storytelling trick that we’ve used to generate millions for non-profits. We call it “Being the guide”. When it comes to raising money, so many non-profits focus on themselves. ↳ They show their stats. ↳ They talk about their board. ↳ They talk about their great work. Yet they completely forgot to talk about the 1 thing their donors really care about. → The people they serve. They’re the heroes of the story. So just like Nike focuses on: - People who wear Nike. - How they succeed with Nike. - Their transformational success stories. As a non-profit, you need to do the same. - Showcase someone you’ve helped. - Showcase how you gave them a plan. - Showcase their transformational story too. In a bid to help parents and carers in Norwich save on the expense of school uniform and prevent clothing that is in wearable condition going to waste, Castle Quarter have launched a preloved school uniform collection point. and are asking for donations. During the summer, they will host a pop-up event for a school uniform swap shop, where parents and carers can pick up good quality items of clothing, for free, ready for the new school term to begin. Castle Quarter is asking people to donate blazers, cardigans, jumpers PE kits, polo shirts, shorts, shoes, skirts and trousers. Items can be plain or branded, and in any colour. They must be washed and in good, wearable condition, with all name tags removed if possible. #recycle #reuse #donate #uniform

Wow, these statistics are really eye-opening. It's great to see that a significant portion of Americans donate their unwanted footwear, but there's still a lot of room for improvement, especially in terms of recycling and reducing waste. A little 'inside baseball' for how a Rally North America event works. 80+ cars line up in a smallish town (think Erie, PA or Knoxville, TN) on a sunny weekday morning - come to think of it, I've never been on a starting grid where it was raining - listen to a rallying introduction from our organizers and that town's leadership, and then get in our cars, waiting for the coveted Clue Card for the day and the green flag. Local news crews recording as we take off, one by one. Pictured is one of those Clue Cards - this from our 2016 Big Sky Rally which ran from Billings, MT to Portland, OR. As you can see, each checkpoint is described with just a clue and an image. We have to figure out what it is, where it is, and how to get there more quickly than the other 79 cars' occupants. While respecting traffic laws, mind you; a ticket is an instant DQ. Our place in the starting grid is dictated by how much money we raise for the charity that year. In 2012, I secured pole position with approximately $3500 raised. By now, pole position requires more than $20,000 in donations. We are that serious about the cause. I'm usually good now for about $8,000 - though I'm behind in my efforts so far this year. Please help me out by hitting Like and, if you think the cause worthy, repost to your networks. All donations, large or small, are hugely appreciated and roundly celebrated. My goal for this week is to raise $250 through our donation page, which is linked below.
