As we celebrate the vibrancy and potential of our continent, let's recognize the critical role that young Africans play in shaping our collective future. From innovation to entrepreneurship, activism to artistry, our youth are driving progress and pushing boundaries. They're leveraging technology to solve real-world problems, creating jobs and opportunities that will uplift communities and nations. They're championing climate action, social justice, and equality, refusing to accept the status quo and demanding a better tomorrow. They're redefining what it means to be African, celebrating our diversity and heritage while forging a new path forward. So let's amplify their voices, support their endeavors, and empower them to keep shining. The future of Africa is indeed bright, and it's in good hands. #YouthEmpowerment #AfricaRising #SDGs #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #Sustainability"

Last Thursday, I had the privilege of representing our international research team alongside Willem Elbers at the Wilde Ganzen/Partos CEO-meeting. Our presentation focused on the findings of our recent study on shift the power. We told about the messages emerging from the data: while much is currently happening to shift power, the activities undertaken do hardly anything to promote systemic change. We also spoke about the risk of the ‘’colonizing the decolonization agenda”, as actions tend to be initiated by the North. Afterward, one NGO director told Willem about the difficulty of reconciling our research findings with what he promised to do when he got the job a few years ago, which is more fundraising and growth. He said he recognized the necessity to look for a new way forward for his organization, but also saw that this was going to be a major challenge. This exchange highlights the importance of addressing the uncomfortable truth: taking shift the power seriously will pose significant challenges for many Northern organizations. An NGO director also talked about the need to go back to 'the heart' - why, as NGOs are we in this world, what drives us. An move away from the managerialism around which much work is organized currently. Which, by the way, connects perfectly with another piece of research from me, that centres around reimagining NGO roles, starting with identity. See https://lnkd.in/eGFtvj_j Let us discuss these challenges openly, it's the only way! A movement that encapsulates the aspirations of a continent eager to realize its full potential. A beacon of hope and progress, addressing the challenges and harnessing the opportunities that lie within Africa’s borders.
In the heart of Africa’s vibrant and diverse landscape, the One Africa Forum stands as a beacon of hope and progress. Established with a vision to unite, develop, and empower the continent, the forum has become a pivotal platform for addressing the challenges and harnessing the opportunities that lie within Africa’s borders. At the core of the One Africa Forum’s mission is the empowerment of Africa’s youth. Recognizing the potential of young minds to drive change, the forum launched the 'Y3DG' initiative, aiming to raise a generation of young, dynamic, determined, and daring leaders by 2030. This ambitious project seeks to equip the youth with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to take the reins of governance and steer Africa towards a brighter future. We also take a firm stand against gender-based violence and inequality through its ‘Other Gender Campaign’. By raising awareness and advocating for change, One Africa Forum strives to create a continent where every individual, regardless of gender, can live free from violence and discrimination. Understanding the importance of education, the 'Noble Club initiative' provides crucial support to young learners across African schools. With a network of social workers, educational psychologists, and mentors, the program offers guidance, psychological support, and mentorship, shaping the leaders of tomorrow. At One Africa Forum, we are also deeply committed to combating hunger and malnutrition. Through initiatives like the 'Radical Feeding Scheme' and 'Food Drive', the organization aims to feed thousands of children and families each month, ensuring that the basic needs of the most vulnerable are met. In addition, the 'Integrity Camp' is another cornerstone project, focusing on educating and training potential leaders in the principles of integrity and ethical governance. This camp is a testament to the forum’s dedication to nurturing a leadership culture that values transparency and accountability. With a United Vision for Africa, One Africa Forum’s efforts extend beyond individual projects, encompassing a broader vision for a united, peaceful, and developed Africa. By working collaboratively with governments, private sectors, and communities, the forum fosters an environment where sustainable development and empowerment are not just ideals but tangible realities. Finally, One Africa Forum is more than an organization; it’s a movement that encapsulates the aspirations of a continent eager to realize its full potential. Through its comprehensive approach to youth empowerment, gender equality, education, food security, and leadership training, the forum is paving the way for an Africa that is not only self-sufficient but also a significant player on the global stage. For more information on how to get involved or support One Africa Forum’s initiatives, visit www.oneafricaforum.org or email oneafricaforum@gmail.com

In reality a Liberation movement serves to fulfill specific collaborative needs for a particular race. In times of struggle, a dedicated leadership is essential one that is relentless in its commitment to serve the populace. Despite our diverse ambitions, we face shared challenges. It is our collective resilience in adversity that fosters equality, transcending political and social divides. To advance Africa's future, we must prioritize our collective development, recognizing that this commitment is fundamental to any political agenda. This should be our primary mandate as a continent.
