We’ve all been through these nightmarish, one-time, ‘someone thinks it’s going to be the magic bullet that gets everyone aligned’ events. I’ve heard it from peers, and we hear it from customers all the time, essentially: “we don’t have budget for everyone to have daily coaching because we just spent 6 figures on a 2 day leadership retreat” (or something to that effect). As an L&D and People Strategy professional I’ve constantly had to fight the thought that some leadership conference or retreat is going to “fix everything” and is worth a giant investment, but the other 360+ days a year are sort of left with… not much. We’re not magicians, and a singular event is not a magic wand. Yes, team building can be valuable. Yes, retreats can be helpful. But we also need to think about what’s best to reinforce what we’re doing in the day to day, and not just a couple days a year for a select few in the org.

I firmly believe in celebrating the everyday grind just as much as the big wins. This past week was a shining example. After a rejuvenating long weekend, everyone at Fawley Bryant Architecture dove right back into early mornings, detailed work, to-do lists, meetings, and, most importantly, growth opportunities. ✅ Deadlines accomplished 😂 Laughter shared 🚧 Lessons learned 🌱 Growth cultivated I’m so proud of every team member for showing up, giving their all, and rising above the daily challenges. It's not about perfection—it's about progress. We embrace the journey every week, learning from our experiences and pushing forward.
