In a conversation with Channel 24, I highlighted that the ongoing country wide load shedding is occurring due to the obvious financial inability to import fossil fuel. The decade long faulty power development plan focusing solely on the imported fossil fuel is responsible for the prevailing energy crisis. Bangladesh will have to end the tendency to depend on imported fossil fuels, and emphasize on the domestic gas exploration and renewable energy expansion to ensure energy security of people. Egiin Gol power plant project gets off the ground — president of Mongolia Russia and Mongolia are discussing the possibility of building the power plant on the Egiin Gol river for many years ULAANBAATAR, September 3/ The construction project of the hydropower plant on the Egiin Gol river flowing to the Selenga river, the largest tributary of the Lake Baikal, got off the ground, Mongolian leader Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh said after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "I expressed satisfaction that as a result of efforts of both parties the project of the hydropower plant on the Egiin Gol gets under way," the Mongolian President said.
