🌟 Fundraising Showdown: 🌟 Hello and welcome to all my new Fabulous Fundraising connections! 👐 I have a fun question for you to start the week…. 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫-𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐯𝐬. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜?! 🤼♂️ On one side, we have the classic Donor-Centric approach – roll out the red carpet, write those heartfelt thank-yous, and send personalised updates. After all, donors are the VIPs, right? 🎟️✨ But wait! 🤚 On the other side, there's the bold and inclusive Community-Centric approach – bringing everyone to the table, amplifying community voices, and fostering collective impact. Because together, we are unstoppable! 👫🌍💪 So, which side are you on? 🎭 💌 Donor-Centric Fans – You are all about building deep, personal connections and making each donor feel like a hero in the story. 🏘️ Community-Centric Champions – You're the rallying force, the ones who believe in power to the people! You strive for a fundraising model where everyone has a say, and the community's needs shape the mission. I know ultimately in the end, it's not about choosing sides it's just a important finding that sweet spot where donors feel valued, and ensuring that our communities feel empowered. 🌈✨ But love to hear your thoughts! Are you Team Donor ❤️ or Team Community 🌟, or perhaps a blend of both? Share your experiences and let's celebrate the wonderful and diverse world of fundraising! 🎉 #Fundraising #NonProfit #DonorCentric #CommunityCentric #MakingADifference

That Community-centric approach helps to build intersectional relationships and expand into new spaces: a wider spectrum of donors and a more holistic view of your beneficiaries across more demographics. People trust voices they can relate to, so building a community around a shared need will get you that access and amplify your message... That's the acquisition strategy But if/when that works, you'll need a retention strategy - and when you get there, nothing beats direct outreach. Ideally those strategies would run parallel, like with any acquisition funnel: community development brings in donors, personal outreach converts them into long-term supporters and evangelists.
