We can all agree that change is hard. It's easier to keep doing what we're doing, for as long as we can. At the same time, we also understand that change is constant, and we may need to adapt. When navigating 'change' we can either be in the flight deck with full perspective of the world developing in front of us, hang out in Row 39 and comfortably wait for someone else to make the decisions, or not on the plane at all, wondering where everyone is going? On this #EarthDay2024 there appears to be change all around us. One small piece of the larger topic is how to plan for a more #sustainable future for #aviation including adopting #electricaircraft in a world very much accustomed to piston-driven options. So - where does the community's opinion rest on the matter of #electricaircraft? Dr. Andy Leonard and I will be presenting "Assessing Stakeholder Opinions in the Shift to Electric-Powered Aircraft" at the #WATS2024 conference next week in Orlando. We plan to introduce results from our study on personal opinions of electric aircraft, aviation sustainability, and selected economic topics pertaining to electric aircraft. Trial by fire. ✈️Climate activists have been screaming to stop flying for a while. Aviation is on the spotlight, and business aviation is being pushed down the cliff as "the Monster". 💪🏽We had a very interesting training session on how to continue the dialogue with activists at #airops2024, organized by European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) , we the wonderful Charlotte Bakker from dyami | security intelligence . What an insightful session! 🤔 While external activism is good and helps changing the industry from outside, history showed a few times that extremism should not be the solution. 🍃 At Azzera, we are at the forefront of internal activism, intrinsicaly linked to discussing but most of all implementing change. This is all about helping the industry from inside, proposing realistic and achievable solutions. 👋🏽We are leaving the show with a message of #Hope: The discussion needs to stay open. Step by step, all together, we can make a difference on the effect of aviation on climate change! I enjoyed hosting a captivating session at the Farnborough International Airshow. Our discussion delved into the aviation industry’s commitment to achieving net-zero flying by 2050 and explored the steps required to turn these ambitions into reality.   A few of the main takeaways that stood out to me included:   🐌 Navigating Obstacles: Even though there is a lot of will and demand, we are still moving too slow. Considerable technical and economic barriers remain key hurdles for the transformation and adaption. The path to resolution is being carved through financial investments and innovative technological progress.   🤝 Unified Approach Required: A successful shift to sustainable fuels calls for a collaborative strategy among all key players—airlines, OEMs, investors, energy companies and regulatory bodies – to effectively mitigate climate effects.   ✈ Cultivating Engagement and Fostering Transparency: Customers are increasingly willing to invest in sustainable options, even at a premium.
