The Press Hardening market is evolving towards the production of larger parts, such as “Double Door Rings”. On the one hand, this reduces the number of parts on the vehicle and, on the other hand, it also reduces all associated intermediate operations.   A hot stamping line equipped with two roller furnaces of approximately 40 m, is capable of stamping parts such as double-door rings in cycle times of 20 s.   The double furnace has a further impact on production assurance, since even if one of the furnaces stops for breakdown or maintenance reasons, the line can still continue to run at reduced speed.   On May 20, 2024, our colleagues Mathew Mitchell and Gerald Schulz will be presenting our most innovative technologies for the efficient production of lightweight materials for the automotive industry, like this one, at the Automotive Lightweight Materials USA 2024 summit, which will be held in Detroit, Michigan from May 20 to May 21.   More information: https://lnkd.in/drwZUHqU   #PressHardening #AutomotiveIndustry #LightweightMaterials

It builds the 'Crafter' model, which is larger and heavier than the normal #car. The weight played a much greater role in the #handling of the parts. The model's wide range of variants also made it impossible to fully automate #production steps. At an early stage, the Volkswagen planners opted for #Demag #KBK Aluline as a universal #system to be used throughout #assembly. The #aluminium crane body is characterized by particularly good smooth-running properties and low #rolling resistance.
