I came across this video on YouTube yesterday, and I knew exactly what he was going to say before he even said it. It reminded me of the conversations I’ve had with friends who work on the asset-based side of the industry. A lot of them share the same frustration. It made me wonder: Why do so many carriers feel this way about working with brokers? I think a big part of the issue is that many brokers aren’t truly adding value for their carrier partners. Too often, the focus is solely on the customer, and the carriers are overlooked. But to succeed long-term, brokers need to build strong relationships with carriers, show loyalty, and help them find freight on lanes they actually want to run. I’m curious—why do you think so many carriers dislike working with brokers, and what can we do to fix this as an industry?
