If you plan on joining the London's Calling Ltd After Party next Friday, July 19, be sure to check out our edible bubble volcano! 🫧 That's right! Bubbles that taste delicious. 😋 When a customer has a seamless, unique, up close, and personal experience that delights, they want to tell their friends and colleagues about it. It's these types of experiences that we want to help teams deliver and provide inspiration to continually innovate to do so at scale. Therefore as you get up close and personal with some delicious bubbles at the After Party, we hope that you're inspired for how you can take the experience back to your team to create the same feeling for your customers. #LC24 #trailblazercommunity

The old boozer is back - but did it ever leave? If you, like us, have already given up on the Dry Jan chat and found yourself this weekend catching up with friends over a lovely pint then you might be interested in our latest insights.. With new films like Saltburn glamorising British pub culture, the latest Stella Artois’ X Palace pop-up collaboration and Martine Rose SS24 show taking place in a North London boozer - why is it that we seem to find pubs so charming? Other than sticky tables, pork scratchings and quenching pints, pubs are a quintessential part of British culture, a place of community and unity of all classes, ages and races, the pub is a place of meaning and belonging. From our perspective, pubs are synonymous with storytelling and a backdrop for brands, done authentically to foster connection. A staple of a nation’s culture over the last decade, the boozer has battled with the rise of experiential and trends towards drinking less. But its place has always remained, even if the attention may have waived. With the UK’s foodie tastemakers (pardon the pun) such as TOPJAW LTD, now also including pubs in their reccos – like where to go for the perfect pint of Guinness, you have old haunts like the Bricklayer’s Arms in Shoreditch firmly back on the map. Plus with the ‘blokecore’ trend still hanging on for dear life, the classic boozer is always going to be the perfect backdrop to show off your boxfresh Wales Bonner Samba’s. And so in summary, pubs are seemingly back on the agenda - though for us they never really left. #culture #pubs #community

Did you think that we were just gonna do one post about coffee and then be done...? If so, you really don't know us. Last Friday we went to the London Coffee Festival. We're always thinking outside the box on ways to acquire new clients, meet people in the industry and to widen and broaden our network. While that's all cool, how does that actually benefit our clients? Other than that we get more of them? Well it benefits them in two ways, firstly, we're gonna meet all of the consultants who are on the side of the industry on the tangents to what we do and who can add value for them. So when they might say, ’I just need a ... can you introduce me?’ We can introduce them. How you do something is how you do everything. And our clients can be reassured that if we'll go to any length to meet new people, broaden our network, and find new clients, then we'll apply that same energy and relentlessness to finding amazing sites for them. While we were there, we happened to take the ‘Coffee Industry Knowledge’ quiz. You can see the results. Now I’m not saying we know more about coffee than Joe and the Juice, but... I will add that it was Starbucks that we knocked off the leaderboard Anyway, where’s my flat white? #property #coffee #hospitality #opportunitiesunlocked #onepoint2

Head of Underwriting at Prime Pay Solutions Limited, a subsidary company of emerchantpay. I'm also co-owner of Hops-craft beer/whisky/rum/cigar bar. Address 17 Castle Street, Douglas, Isle of Man.
Why do we do what we at HOPS (Isle of Man)? What's the one word we hear from our customers? Relaxing. Or variants of it. Chilled. Laid back. Why is that? It's due to our values. We want to make people feel at home when they're at our place. We have two very large armchairs. They are absolutely not optimal for a bar like ours, given we are a relatively small space. These chairs were bought some time before we opened and we'd agreed to sell them to someone before opening. The day of opening came and the buyer was a no show. So we went ahead with the chairs in situ. Those chairs are now where most customers make an immediate 'bee line' for when they come in. Feedback is that they're great to sit in and people don't want to move. Just what you want a hospitality owner wants to hear! That came about by accident but taught us an interesting lesson. Some people like to feel 'at home' when they're out. They like to relax. They like to chat. We do our absolute utmost to chat to every customer that comes through the door. It's not always possible but we try our best. We chat about the bar. About the drinks. But more importantly about whatever they want to chat about. It's their night out. We want to make them feel as though they are getting something they don't elsewhere. It just so happens that we offer high quality products and are very knowledgeable on those products. Hospitality is what we 'sell'. Access and knowledge around higher quality products is what we provide. It's our why, our purpose. It's what made us start the business and what keeps us going. I'm sure many of you will know who I've been listening to with these thoughts. Bonus points for commenting who below. p.s - if you want to feel 'at home when out' whilst trying higher quality beers, whisky, rums or cigars, then we're open tonight and tomorrow from 5.15, Saturday from early afternoon and Sunday from 12-6.

Have you ever been to a large event that had no food or beverage options? Unlikely! Guests remember the fare at events, especially if the event is centered around a meal. It all goes back to the basics of hospitality- which traces back to ancient times, where people welcomed guests into their homes, fostering connections through "breaking bread" and conversations. This echoes modern event planning objectives and networking goals. Click to explore how a meal isn’t merely sustenance; it's an opportunity to forge connections and unite people over breaking bread.

Parades & frestvals promote community spirt & boost restaurants sales. Unfortunately there is no evidence they stimulate store sales, the event day will curb their business, frequently becoming their slowest day of the year. Looking for case studies of postive retail sales during festivals. Harbor Springs, Mich. July 4th celebration, my favorite. My book explores this misunstood trend.

How can we help you?
Five Star Bank customer, Charles Phan, Founder of The Slanted Door Group, said, “Five Star Bank’s partnership allows us to focus on our business. Their team are experts in the industry and have taken the time to get to know me and my business to serve The Slanted Door in a personalized manner. I appreciate their hard work and dedication to their clients and the fact they are always available whenever I need them.” The Slanted Door was founded in 1995 with the goal of elevating Vietnamese food to the next level—modern design, sustainable local ingredients, quality teas, and wine pairings. The Slanted Door quickly became too small to accommodate the reservation requests. The growing restaurant moved to south of market in 2002. It was there that the team integrated a craft cocktail program which was one of the first restaurants in San Francisco to offer craft cocktail menus. The company has since opened more locations, including San Ramon and Napa. Five Star Bank is grateful to serve Charles and The Slanted Door team! . . . #FiveStarBank #2024 #impact #community #communities #sacramento #sacramentostrong #sacramentoproud #CAforAll #California #CA
