🌟 Finding Passion and Purpose 🌟 Zack's Workways journey is a story of finding purpose through a newfound passion. When Zack first met Workways Employment Coach, Karen, in July 2022, he was struggling with employment and career direction. Past experience with employment providers had proved challenging for him, but despite his initial reservations, Zack persevered and accepted Karen’s guidance. He completed an EST course and tried various jobs, only to discover they weren't the right fit. Seeking a fresh perspective, he participated in "back2work" sessions, focusing on motivation, lack of confidence and career exploration. 🌟 These sessions proved transformative! 🌟 Zack discovered a newfound passion for making jewellery 💍. His demeanour shifted dramatically; his face lit up when discussing his designs, which he proudly shared during appointments. Determined to pursue this passion, Zack enrolled in the SEA program to gain business-building skills. He's currently finalizing his financial forecasting, demonstrating his commitment and dedication. This story exemplifies the power of finding purpose. Witnessing Zack's transformation, from disengaged to empowered, filled Karen and the Workways team with immense pride. Beginnings are never easy. Let's be honest: we all have success and failure stories. But we tend to hide our failures and publish our success stories on social media. It's human nature to fear judgment and crave acceptance. Maybe that's why we hesitate to share our weaknesses. My life is a tapestry of successes and failures. Yet, it's the failures that have taught me the most. I've been fortunate in many ways. 🍀 At 14, I spent a month in England with a wonderful host family. They lived in a mansion with horses next to a beautiful green park. It felt like a dream. ✨ Two years later, I had a similar experience in the US. I stayed with a family who owned a small island on Lake Winnipesaukee (New Hampshire). Celebrating my first Fourth of July on a boat in the middle of that lake, surrounded by a welcoming American family and their beautiful husky dog, was unforgettable. It felt like the dream kept going. 🌟 Little did I know, these experiences were the start of my international journey. At that time, I dreamed of being a professional football player. Fast forward 13 years, and I had lived in Utrecht, San Francisco, Madrid, Hong Kong, and Miami. Returning to Spain, I was full of hope. I thought my international experience and language skills would lead to an excellent career. 💼🌟 Then, the greatest economic crisis in 50 years hit. The next decade was much tougher than I expected. Filled with both success and failure. Some wrong decisions were made, and some big disappointments and unexpected career turns confused me. 🤷♂️ Whether those experiences were good or bad, only time will tell. Life isn't about what happens to you, but what you learn from it. These experiences inspired me to create my own company. Engaging in experiences that captivate our hearts and minds not only keeps us grounded but also fosters growth and focus in all aspects of our lives. When we invest time in doing things we enjoy, we nourish our souls and allow ourselves to recharge. These moments of pure bliss enable us to tap into our true passions and reconnect with our inner selves. It is in these moments that we find inspiration and motivation to strive for greatness. Similarly, when we challenge ourselves, we push beyond our comfort zones and discover new depths of strength and resilience. First -10°C Run- A Chilly Challenge Faced Head-On Last Saturday, I ventured on a 5km run through downtown Winnipeg, and it turned out to be quite an adventure! Despite my initial concerns about the freezing temperatures and the biting wind, I decided to push through and give it a shot. What I learned from this experience is ✅ Trusting Yourself: Believing in your abilities, even in challenging circumstances, is crucial for personal growth. Trusting yourself empowers you to face adversity with resilience and determination. ✅ Having an Open Mind: Approaching new experiences without preconceived notions allows for greater learning and growth. An open mind enables you to embrace challenges as opportunities and discover new strengths. ✅ Overcoming Discomfort: Pushing through discomfort fosters resilience and builds character. By trusting yourself, you can navigate discomfort and emerge stronger on the other side. ✅ Discovering Strengths: Trusting yourself in difficult situations reveals hidden strengths and capabilities. How do you ACTUALLY nail your career path as an adult? Easy. Learn from those who've been there. Yesterday, I stepped into a CHS South High Scool in Manchester. It took me back to when I was 15 years old and navigating Year 9, total chaos and career confusion. Remember those days? It was a craaazy time, -> Trying to pick GCSE subjects, -> Facing the dreaded work experience, -> Hearing that daunting advice: 'Find your passion.' Truth is, I had no clue. And the struggle didn't stop until I hit 21. See for me I just couldn’t “find my passion” I’d didn't meet any successful business until working a ski season. They just weren’t a part of my social, family or societal circles. But that one chance encounter changed the game for me, And since then I’ve been repeating the advice I was told, Whether you're a teen or an adult if you find yourself lost or stuck: Find someone who's crushing it in your field of interest. Reach out. Ask questions. Learn. That's how I ended up back in uni, launched my first business, and even how I ended up taking to the skies ✈️. The sad thing is; Most folks never act on their dreams. They sit and hope for 'someday,' while opportunities begin to to slip away. So, I’ll say it again: If you've got a dream, a goal, a burning desire; -> Find someone who's already living it. -> Ask them out for coffee, jump on a Zoom call—just get talking. -> Take the first step and start moving. Chances are, they've got the answers you need. And if they don't? Find another to ask. All it takes is that first step. NB: I crossed paths with a girl that wanted to be a pilot yesterday, we had a good 20 minute chat and she left that conversation now knowing the first step.
