As Australia moves towards a greener and more sustainable future, transportation and mobility are becoming an increasingly important part of the conversation. Questions around the challenges of climate change, resource depletion and limited flexibility are coming to the forefront of traditional ownership models, particularly where cars are concerned. This makes way for innovative solutions such as car subscriptions, which can offer a flexible and sustainable alternative to traditional car ownership - and can be a great way to incorporate sustainability into your employee mobility programs. Vanir’s Executive Director of Transportation Tom Tracy has hiked up a few peaks. Through trial and error, he found that the following steps generally work when preparing for a summit hike and can even be applied to doing business. 1. Know the route - Determine long-term target agencies and projects. 2. Get in shape - Gain experience through strategic teaming. Hire local leaders with the right skills, credentials and experience. 3. Practice hikes - When we have the right resources, offer them to the clients who trust us to get their job done. 4. Execute the summit hike – Bring all the pieces together to chase, win and successfully execute a target project with a target client. 5. Celebrate at the summit – Take a selfie with your client at the ribbon cutting. 6. Safely retreat from the summit – Debrief with the team and client and look for ways to continually improve. #WeAreVanir #EmployeeSpotlight #Transportation #ReachingNewHeights

The last work mission of 2023: ✅ all #BalticSustainableBoating2030 project partners gathered to review the progress of the project and to set priority tasks for the year ahead. 🤝 I had a pleasure to provide an overview of all Policy Dialogue activities that is led by the Council of the Baltic Sea States (#CBSS) and set a concrete action plan for 2024. It was especially pleasing to hear positive evaluations by project partners on Policy Dialogue activities implemented during 2023 🌱. ⛵ Leisure boating is an important factor of European #SustainableBlueEconomy agenda but it is facing many challenges in the Baltic Sea Region. The BaltSusBoating2030 project, funded by #InterregBSR, departed on am ambitious journey to make a real change towards developing the BSR into one sustainable boating destination. Find more about the project ➡️ https://lnkd.in/diXZMbAD
After a busy autumn when the project partners participated in various events to discuss the purpose, scope and plans of the #BSB2030 #BaltSusBoating2030 initiative, the time came to sit around the table, collect the experiences and think about the next steps. https://lnkd.in/dsP8rEh4

https://lnkd.in/gwZWzYvg On June 19, I held my first Book Talk at Cantigny Park in Winfield, IL. for the newly published titled I wrote: Nature Is Our Country Club: How Golf Explains Sustainability in a Changing World. The golf world and nature intersect in some ways but are distinct in others. Golf courses create a pastoral environment using nature in a manufactured sense. Contrastingly, wilderness means the minimum human influence in any given place. Yet the impact on humanity is so significant these days that there are fewer points of true wilderness and more places where managing that impact is critical to sustainability for the long term. That’s where golf offers an example in how we can all make and keep the world a better place.

Create your own experience or join friends and family. You can choose to walk or run 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, or the Family Fun Run. Every step you take helps raise awareness for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). You can participate any day before July 20, 2024. If you would like to make a difference for the world with every stride, please email me (link in comment) to obtain your free registration code. You can then register for Australia with the registration link I will provide, and you can submit your time when you complete the event. I have chosen United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 15 - Life on Land as the focus for Australia. Animals matter. I'm planning my 5 km walk for next weekend. You can walk or run on your treadmill indoors, or be outdoors. The venue, distance and date you participate are your choices. I need a minimum of 11 more people to join Team Australia, so please join and raise awareness of the projects to sustain our planet. I'd love you to share with friends and family. The organisers hope to get over 1000 participants from 190 countries. Annie #sustainability #raisingawareness #animalsmatter #stepsforsustainability

Coach and consultant for sustainable tourism + Key Note Speaker + trainer for destinations & hotels + moderator for events & workshops
This week I had a one hour discussion with the team of a DMO (Destination Management Organisation). We talked about the aspects of sustainability and how this can help the organisation and the destination to become more successful and future resilient. I promised myself that I will do these open short talks and inspiring exchanges more often as I like to listen more than speaking. Sustainability is often perceived as an "on top" aspect to think about and that there is no time for it. Times are so dynamic - that´s what I heard - that we have no time to reflect and think. I left this meeting with the deep belief that slowing down internally when times speed up is the fastest way forward. We could take a new, fresh look at our daily operations. Sustainability is like quality: If embedded in every aspect and the overall attitude it generates advantages on every level. When talking and listenting in this meeting, I felt like this would be the natural outcome of many meetings... #tourythm #deeplistening #ourfuture
