Petrobras signed a contract with TechnipFMC in recent days to carry out engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) services and test the Hisep technology. Developed by Petrobras research center Cenpes, the solution is designed to separate oil and gas at the bottom of the ocean and reinject the CO2-rich gas into the reservoir. The prototype ordered from TechnipFMC will be installed in the third production module of the Mero field, in the Libra pre-salt block in the Santos basin, and is due to be connected to the Marechal Duque de Caxias FPSO in 2028. The contract includes the supply of manifolds, flexible and rigid pipes, umbilicals and power distribution systems, as well as maintenance and intervention services once the technology has been validated. According to Petrobras, Hisep has the potential to increase oil production, relieving the surface gas processing plant, while reducing the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions. In this interview with BNamericas, Fabio Passarelli, a consultant for production development projects and the implementation of new technologies at Petrobras, and Vinicius Machado, the Libra project manager, say the company is already studying the application of Hisep in other offshore projects, including those based on the concepts of "subsea to shore" and "subsea to shallow water." #hisep #oilandgas #gas #naturalgas #innovation #ccs #subsea https://lnkd.in/dETabARq.
