We have just released the findings of our survey on the community and affordable housing sector. The results are in - organisations are hungry for growth, but they're also up against significant challenges when it comes to delivering new housing and meeting tenant needs. However, this research also uncovered five possible opportunities to make an impact on supply growth within a constrained funding environment. The High Performing Boardroom Coach | Experienced NED | Creator of "Board Measures" | boardroom advisor and coach | governance trainer and expert | Executive and career strategy coach | Former CFO
This is long overdue. The National Housing Federation and Chartered Institute of Housing have at last recognised that the right thing for the #socialhousing sector is to pool their resources and hold a single unified annual conference. These events are costly enough and it has becoming increasingly difficult to justify the use of tenants' rents to send board members and executives to attend two rounds of conferences each year that invariably cover overlapping themes. Following their collaboration on the Better Social Housing Review, could this be the next stage towards merger for two organisations which are set to face difficult financial challenges in the next few years? At a time of heightened political and financial pressures, social housing needs one single, clear and unambiguous voice to represent it to government, regions, local councils, politicians. developers and other key stakeholders...
