❗Urgent: Global conflicts have left thousands of innocent children homeless in Gaza. 80% of homes are damaged or destroyed, displacing 1.7 million people, half of which are children. ❗ 🏠 Our response team is in Egypt, collaborating with local organizations to expedite aid delivery to Gaza. Although getting aid into Gaza is unpredictable and delays are common, trucks filled with our aid are expected to cross the border over the coming days. We have contingency plans in place with our partners to make sure that our aid still reaches people who need it should there be a ground offensive in Rafah. In addition, we are working with partners in Jordan, including Rotary, to scale our response, and we have more aid on the move. We are using two separate aid routes into Gaza to get tents to people without shelter in the coming weeks. 🌟Your generosity allows us to expand our response to reach as many families as possible with emergency shelter. Please give if you can. https://lnkd.in/g7DSRReW #shelterboxusa #shelterchildren #shelteraid #emergencyresponse

The continuation of the conflict in #Gaza exacerbates the humanitarian crisis with each passing hour. The impact is most acute among the most vulnerable communities, where the need for assistance is growing rapidly. This situation underscores the urgent need for a resolution to the conflict and a sustained humanitarian response to support those who are facing the gravest challenges. #CAREforGaza #HumanitarianResponse #CrisisInGaza #AidForTheVulnerable
CARE continues to work in cooperation with their colleagues in Egypt to deliver aid in #Gaza, but, for every hour the conflict goes on, the humanitarian disaster increases exponentially, especially for the most vulnerable communities. https://ow.ly/pCkx50Qa4qp

‘Now we see hunger, starvation and famine stalking children, especially in the north of Gaza… Children should not be dying of starvation in the 21st century, anywhere in the world, but it certainly shouldn’t be happening a few short miles from where there is humanitarian aid and assistance that could save their lives. So yes, we need the access to be able to get more humanitarian aid into Gaza, especially the opening of more overland entrances, which is the only way we can get in at the scale needed, but we also need to see an end to the fighting, which will allow us to distribute the supplies, to reach families and communities in need, and ultimately it will allow us to save children’s lives, which is what we do in conflicts all around the world. We know how to do this. We have to be allowed to do so. Glad to speak with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer yesterday on the recent devastating developments for children and families in Gaza.

It’s been one month since I first posted about the #genocide happening in Gaza. And the state of desperation in this post by Save the Children International is a clear reflection that conditions are at their gravest point … Like so many other humanitarian organizations, they are asking for a #ceasfirenow … For more on the state of #ceasefire, check out this article from the The Guardian https://lnkd.in/gwDffNn7

Children in Gaza are dying because of a lack of food. Families cannot find anything to feed their children and are being forced to forage for scraps of food left by rats and eating leaves out of desperation to survive. We are doing everything we can to reach children across Gaza at the necessary scale, but every avenue for aid delivery is either obstructed, complicated, or requires operating in life-threatening conditions, undermining our ability to meaningfully support children. Starvation must never be used as a weapon of war. We need a definitive ceasefire and unfettered humanitarian access to deliver lifesaving support to families and children. #CeasefireNOW #StopTheWarOnChildren

Horrific stories like that of fourteen-year-old Jana Qudeih, who succumbed to extreme hunger after days of fighting for her life in a shelter center near Khan Younis, highlight the dire consequences of the situation. Jana’s family even struggled to find a grave for her amidst ongoing violence. More aid simply must get into Gaza. Normally, humanitarian aid is allowed into war zones to provide relief to civilians. However, there are so many hurdles to delivering aid in Gaza, and the scope of suffering is so huge, that most needs are going unmet and people are dying because of it. The international community should not accept this situation as status quo. Starvation in Gaza demands urgent attention and action from the international community. With hundreds of thousands at risk of starving to death, it is imperative that more aid reaches Gaza without delay. Food should not be a controversial issue, and the world must come together to stop starvation in Gaza and ensure the protection and well-being of its people. The situation in Gaza is difficult because essential things like water and food are being blocked. While some food aid came in during a humanitarian pause, regular deliveries are still not happening. This deliberate strategy is causing severe hunger among the people. Oxfam and its local partners PARC, CFTA, ESDC, PEF and Al Bayader are doing their part to help. They've given 1000 food parcels to displaced families in Gaza and 4,750 vegetable parcels to those in Southern Gaza. Oxfam and its partners are committed to supporting these families in crisis. However, we urgently need a ceasefire to provide the necessary assistance. Under constant bombardment, our partners can't carry out emergency response efforts. #CeasefireNOW is essential. Observing the unfolding atrocities in Gaza is profoundly disheartening and is deeply affecting the essence of humanity. This is not a conventional war, nor is it rooted in matters of religion or race. What is being revealed through both social and mainstream media is a grim tableau of death, torture, and the wanton destruction of innocent civilians, unprecedented in its magnitude within such a brief timeframe. It's likely that many share in the sense of sadness and despair, particularly given the recent UN Security Council vote, where the USA exercised a veto against a ceasefire. LinkedIn, being a platform for professional networking, is witnessing a heartening display of individuals and organisations expressing their perspectives on this issue. Taking a stand for justice and humanity positions many on the right side of history, a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come.
A humanitarian catastrophe has unfolded in Gaza, with unimaginable and unnecessary suffering. More than 7,000 children have been reported killed. This number is still rising. For those children who survive the bombs and ground operations, many will die from disease, starvation, and dehydration if humanitarian aid continues to be weaponised. Save the Children is calling on world leaders to use their influence and demand a definitive #CeasefireNOW to avoid any further risk to children. #StopTheWarOnChildren

3.6 million people in northwestern #Syria are food insecure. The humanitarian response to Syria remains alarmingly underfunded. Only 6 per cent of the required funding for 2024 has been received, which means humanitarian organizations can only reach 625,000 out of 3.6 million people to prevent them from falling into starvation. With support from Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and European Union, over the past year we provided cash assistance to more than 1,200 vulnerable families in 10 locations to help them feed their families and rebuild their lives after conflict and earthquakes. We are thankful to our partners for their support and urgently call on the international community to remember Syria and address the funding crisis. #HumanitarianAid #Syria #Azaz #crisis #humanitarianresponse #northwestsyria #foodinsecure

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached catastrophic levels, with one in four households facing famine levels of food insecurity and severely limited access to safe water. The situation is dire and we are continuing to support families in partnership with local partners and organizations. Through private funders and in-kind support from the World Central Kitchen, we worked alongside Wefaq Association for Women and Child Care to provide hot meals for over 2,560 families in the last week of December. These meals reached over 14,000 internally displaced individuals in the southern region of Gaza. Just over three months have passed since the conflict began between Israel and Hamas in October 2023. 1.9 million Palestinians have been displaced and without a humanitarian ceasefire, hunger and starvation, dehydration and illness will increase as essential systems continue to collapse.

Today marks 251 days since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza. The humanitarian crisis continues to escalate, with recent news reports highlighting the severe impact on civilians. Essential supplies such as food, clean water, and medical care remain critically scarce due to ongoing blockades and hostilities. The United Nations has recently renewed its urgent call for a ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid to reach those in desperate need and to protect innocent lives. Despite these efforts, the international response remains inadequate, leaving the people of Gaza to endure unimaginable hardships. As we reflect on this 251st day, it is imperative that we raise our voices and take action. The prolonged conflict has created daily struggles for survival for millions. By sharing their stories, raising awareness, and supporting humanitarian initiatives, we can contribute to a global movement advocating for peace and justice. Let us stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza. Let’s amplify their voices, share their stories, and work towards a future where peace, dignity, and human rights are upheld for all. 🔴 Join hands to save my family in Gaza, Your donation makes a difference || https://lnkd.in/dWEY8_kC #Gaza #HumanRights #Peace #Justice #Solidarity #HumanitarianCrisis #Advocacy #GlobalAwareness #Genocide #UN #HealthcareCrisis
