We’ve been looking back at the long list of customers we’ve helped during our 75-year history. A precast concrete manufacturing company manufactured a hollow-core concrete roofing/flooring plank system used in commercial construction. The planks were manufactured by pouring concrete into forms that sat on pedestal vibrators. Once a form was filled, the vibrators shook the form until all the air was removed and the concrete was consolidated. Every time the vibrators started up, they threw off #grease needed to lubricate the bearings. This caused excessive wear and premature bearing failures. Subsequently, operations had to cease each time the bearings were replaced – resulting in costly #downtime. A concrete-tight fitting is a fitting that prevents ingress of concrete aggregate (Portland-type cement and sand). This rating is important for electrical conduit systems that run through poured concrete structures. Self #compacting #concrete Garage for concrete self compacting that is used in site should be of minimum M60 grade . In this concrete use of 10 mm coarse aggregate is mandatory.

The original 1928 bridge across the Hotham River in WA’s Wheatbelt was replaced with a new 88 metre structure, built with 1700 cubic metres of concrete and 600 tonnes of steel. Main Roads WA engaged BMD Group for the new $15.2m construction. While the combination of concrete and steel may seem indestructible, both materials require robust protective coatings to maintain integrity and strength. We recommended two proven custom systems, which were applied by coatings specialist Adam Baxter from Nanokote WA: ·      Steel piles were air-sprayed on-site with Dulux® Zincanode 402 for cathodic corrosion resistance, a must for steel spanning waterways ·      Dulux® Durebild STE provided extra barrier protection ·      Dulux® Weathermax HBR created a durable, low maintenance finish with superior gloss and colour retention ·      Concrete components were air-sprayed with Dulux® Durebild STE and finished with Dulux® Weathermax HBR Dulux® Protective Coatings WA State Sales Manager Joel Bock explains why Weathermax HBR is used extensively in infrastructure projects: “It’s a high-performance polyurethane topcoat with anti-graffiti resistance necessary to meet Main Roads Specification 908 requirements and handle repeated exposure to graffiti removal agents, all while retaining colour and gloss to keep assets looking good long term.” Image courtesy of Nanokote WA.
