Today, I am honored to be celebrating my 16-Year Work Anniversary with my company! That is a lifetime to some. It feels amazing. The people who I have met, and the things that I have learned on this journey have shaped my life in so many ways. Here are some of the lessons that I have learned over the years... * Work/life balance is crucial. It is important not to lose sight of what you are working for. Take the vacation. Go to the little-league game. Live a good life. It is short and you only get ONE. So, work to live, not the other way around. * Be kind and respectful and greet everyone. Every person in every position. * Give your respect freely but give your trust wisely. Guard your heart and your personal life. Be discreet. Know the difference between being friends and being friendly. Check your emotions. Don’t react quickly. Observe silently. Avoid office politics and gossip. * Show up. Be consistent and take action. * Be sincere, intentional and authentic. This goes for both your business and your personal life. * Don’t be afraid to ask people to share their wisdom and experience with you. Share your knowledge with others. * Know the difference between healthy competition and unhealthy “comparisonitis”. * Use the right tools, organize everything, and keep good notes. * Clear is Kind. Keep your communications clear, concise and easy to understand. * Confidence in your abilities and knowing your value is important to your success. Believe in yourself and in your work.

Today is my two year work anniversary at Tempo Software! 🎉 Here are some lessons I've learnt: - Company culture is an individual effort. - There's no need to rush a decision or reply. - Find low hanging fruits, and fulfil them quickly. - Stakeholder relationships matter. Befriend everyone. - Showing what was done is as important as doing the work. - Boundaries are important to not be pulled in every direction. - Try not to stress too much. The bad times blow over quickly. - Working with smart, conscientious people makes work easy. - To not get seen as purely tactical communicate strategy too. Tempo does $100m+ ARR, and last year I was promoted to own the product marketing for our SaaS division and products! It's great to work on award-winning products, and an overall winning company. I've learnt a lot working here, and appreciate the amazing culture we have. Here's to many more years! For now, I celebrate. 🤝

Today my husband and I celebrate our 2nd anniversary as husband and wife. However that's not what this post is about. My husband is a Renewable Energy Consultant who is also working towards his ACCA qualifications, on the other hand I'm a qualified PR Officer who works as a business consultant and soft skills trainer. Fascinating things, we work together in our Business Consultancy company (he has his office and i have mine😄). For the time we have worked together I have gathered a few pros and cons regarding working with your partner. Pros: 1. Trust: Already knowing and trusting your partner usually enhances collaboration and decision-making. 2. Shared Vision: You both likely have aligned goals and values which you are aware of, making it easier to work towards common objectives. 3. Communication: Usually communication is more open and effective due to your personal relationship. 4. Support: Having your partner nearby can provide emotional support during challenging times. 5. Work-Life Balance: You can coordinate schedules and vacations more easily, potentially improving work-life balance. Cons: 1. Boundary Blurring: It can be challenging to separate work and personal life, leading to potential conflicts or burnout. 2. Decision-Making Bias: There's a risk of favoritism or bias in decision-making, which can affect team dynamics. 3. Lack of Independence: Working together might limit individual growth and independence within the workplace. 4. Risk of Strain: Disagreements or conflicts at work can spill over into your personal life, causing strain on the relationship. In this case its important to set a model that works for the both of you, usually communication makes it easier to navigate around such strains. 5. Limited Perspective: Working exclusively with your partner might limit exposure to diverse ideas and perspectives within the company. In cases where your partner allows you to spread your wings it's usually not the case. Would you work with your partner? If you already work with your partner, what's your experience, please feel free to add your thoughts and views.

🎉Celebrating my THIRD anniversary at Compass!🎉 Reflecting on the past three years, my life and career have undergone a huge, once unimaginable, shift. My time at Compass has been nothing short of transformative, shaping my professional capabilities, personal identity and overall confidence. Here are my top three takeaways from three years: 1. 🙋♀️Surround yourself with people smarter than you. When I joined the team, I was struck by the caliber of individuals—bright, driven, and engaging. Initially intimidated, I look back today and realize I integrated into this exceptional community at some point, without even noticing, evolving into a peer among equals. 2. 🙇♀️Listen to understand. Operating on a team where input is valued, regardless of title or tenure, is refreshing. Everyone was brought to the table for a reason, and our diverse backgrounds, questions, ideas, and ways of processing information has led to great discussion and solutions. 3. 👪Join a community, not just a company. Looking back, so much of my transformation is thanks to unwavering support, continuous training, and a culture of empowerment at Compass. Embracing challenges, pushing boundaries, and striving for excellence are daily endeavors, where failures are learning opportunities and wins are celebrated. It is crazy to realize I belong among this talented team and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to continue to grow here. AND, who knows? Maybe in three more years, I'll be running the place? (Just kidding… give me at least another ten.)

Please join us in congratulating Matthew Krause on his 10 year work anniversary! We sat down with Matthew to talk about his tenure at Krause, his accomplishments, and the many lessons learned over the years. Q: What is the key to staying successful in your 10-year tenure? A: "The key has been a combination of adaptability and a deep passion for innovation. Over the past decade, I’ve embraced new trends, challenges, and opportunities, always staying curious and driven to deliver unique and inspiring solutions." Q: What is the most important lesson you have learned in the last 10 years? A: "The most valuable lessons I’ve learned happened when everything was “going wrong.” It is in these moments where we have the choice to give up or use it as fuel for growth. It is the power of collaboration. While individual creativity is important, the most successful projects are born from a team effort, where diverse ideas come together to create something truly remarkable." Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of? A: "It is an interesting thing summing up one’s experiences over the course of 10 years. I’m incredibly proud of our team and leadership’s ability to push creative solutions and not being satisfied with the “status quo.” Over the decade, I was given opportunities to use my creativity nature to lead several in-house advancements to the company. This has not only brought fresh, creative solutions to our internal team, but also experiences to our clients that has had a lasting impact on Krause’s outreach. Each one stands as a testament to the importance of a company that allows you the ability to stay curious about the world around each of us and the community at large. Hard work and passion are at the core of our entire team." Q: With a decade of experience under your belt, do you have any advice to up-and-coming individuals in your field? A: "Be a shark, in the best possible way. Adapt to change, stay curious, seek out your interests, embrace challenges, never stop moving forward, and learn all you can, while you can."
