Dutch Mindset. The Netherlands was an eager collaborator to the German occupation in WWII. Nowhere else was the percentage of Jewish citizens deported to concentration camps higher than in the Netherlands. The guilt about standing on the wrong side of history dripped into our society and caused a deeply rooted and understandable loyalty to the Israeli cause. We really meant well. But we did not see the Zionist plan. Many Dutch, especially 50plus, that were raised by that guilt ridden generation still don't see that bigger plan. They run our government and institutions. They condone and support a new g÷noc÷de. In the blindness of our well meant loyalty once again we stand on the wrong side of history. --------------------------------------------------------------- Make yourself uncomfortable. Check out what has been going on. Put your feelings of loyalty under a huge magnifying glass. Read. Ask the people who know, who have been in the midst of evil. Over the last few months, I've applied to 45 projects, mostly in the public sector, an area where I've been working and gaining extensive experience for the last few years. As a versatile freelancer, these applications come with the challenge of navigating through tenders. What particularly frustrates me is the apparent preference for tradition over diverse perspectives. The knockout criteria in these tenders seem designed to recruit individuals similar to those already employed there. Although I can't confirm this, it often feels as though my skin colour and gender – combined with the assumption that I might start thinking about having children because of my age – are creating an unfair playing field. However, I am currently single, a dedicated entrepreneur and probably will not be having children in the next five years, if at all. The rejection of this law by the Dutch Senate doesn't help lighten my feelings of inequality on the labour market. However, on a positive note, I'm not wasting my talents by doing nothing. I am actually working quite a lot right now, albeit without getting paid. Let's hope for a future where talents and diversity are appreciated, regardless of background or personal choices. #Dutch #LabourMarket #Diversity #Inclusion #Equality

Very sad and unacceptable to read about these incidences of violence against women and girls including femicide, which is also a reality in Europe. This should be cause for a major reflection internationally: how to improve safe spaces for women and girls, including in government, security and police forces. This subject should be talked about publicly, what do we want our norms to be ? And not only when it concerns our girlfriend, wife, mother, sister, daughters and grandchildren : for all ! “In Kenia zijn mensen de straat op gegaan om te protesteren tegen femicide, ofwel vrouwenmoord. Unsettling and disappointing news from the #Netherlands tonight. For numerous Muslims, especially Dutch Moroccans like myself, #GeertWilders embodies the trauma we've endured due to the divisive rhetoric he propagated for years and years to secure votes and gain popularity, at the expense of our humanity. The infamous call for "less Moroccans" echoes as a threatening specter, a memory that cannot be erased, alongside countless experiences of racism and Islamophobia fuelled by him and others alike. The contradiction of a supposedly open and ''tolerant'' nation, as falsely advertised, stings, especially with this alleged ''win''. My concern extends to those I left behind, especially the younger members of my family who now find themselves under the influence of such divisive leadership. But even for my younger self, this is a difficult outcome to process. Despite the passage of time, and even though this is not happening in a vacuum, I refuse to stop being #shocked. As Toni Morrison wisely said, "I insist on being shocked. I am never going to become immune. I think that's a kind of failure to see so much of it that you die inside''. So, here I am, expressing my shock and deep shame for a country that has let me, and many like me, down repeatedly. In the face of disappointment, I hold onto the belief that hope can endure, and justice may eventually triumph. But simply not today. #Solidarity to those feeling big feelings today, we shall overcome.

The most divisive issue is whether nationalism offers salvation from the shocks of an increasingly interconnected world, such as immigration and economic dislocation, or a threat to liberty and even to democracy. In this political world, there are no longer opponents, only enemies to be reviled as extremist. Ze vereisen elk een eigen benadering en als je dat niet doorhebt, kan er een explosieve dynamiek ontstaan, die de problemen eerder verergert dan helpt oplossen.
