Cake!🍰 And now that I got your attention, let's talk about #WomensRights👇 Right before winter break, it warms my heart to share the impact we've made at Dow Jones Barcelona in fostering #GenderEquality💜 Our latest event? Simultaneously to the yearly UN campaign for the elimination of violence against women, our #DEI team organized a bake sale to raise awareness and funds🧁 The response was overwhelming!🙌 If you too are thinking about doing a #fundraiser, here's why selling cake is a great idea: 💸100% of the profits have been directed towards supporting the work of a local NGO ✊100% of our energy was focused on raising #awareness amongst coworkers and management, while they were enjoying their delicious purchases✨ 🤗Many people love sweet treats, making it easier to garner support from a diverse group of individuals. Make sure to include gluten-free & vegan options! 👛People are more willing to contribute when the entry point is low, such as purchasing a slice of cake. 😍The fundraiser becomes associated with positive emotions related to the enjoyment of cakes. This can make the event memorable. Supporters kept sending Slack messages thanking specific bakers for making cakes that reminded them of their childhood, for instance - this gave us the opportunity to continue the conversation around #genderbasedviolence well after the fundraiser! 👌A bake sale is relatively straightforward to organize. It requires minimal equipment and can often be executed with the help of #volunteers. I'm curious: what's a successful fundraiser that you recently organised?🧐
