The BIGGEST differences between TikTok & Instagram (as someone who’s had success growing followings on both): - aesthetics are king on Instagram. This is where your post your highlight reels (pun intended). - tiktok tends to skew younger / more social media savvy, and the second they think you’re trying to sell something, they will scroll. Think: off-the-cuff, authentic, less salesy. - don’t bother with long captions for TikTok. The interface is not user-friendly, and it’s a visual first app. - A strong hook is important on both, but I would argue even more so on TikTok. It’s extremely important to cut out any filler, and to focus the majority of your energy on your hook. - while there is the option for longer form videos on TikTok, I suggest breaking up your concepts into multipart videos, and never posting anything longer than one minute. #TikTok #Instagram #SocialMediaStrategy

TikTok Notes looks similar to Instagram, minus a few small differences. The homepage is divided into two sections, with a separate page where you can view posts from people you follow and another “For You” page. 👉 What do you think about all the social media platforms introducing new features to compete with each other. What does a potential TikTok ban in the US mean for brands and creators who rely on the app? For the past week there has been a lot of discussions, questions and concerns around the news that TikTok may face a ban in the US app store, potentially as soon as in 6 months time. This wouldn't only impact US based creators and brands who will no longer be able to use the app, but will impact users all over the world who risk losing a major portion of their audience. So, what should you do? Diversify your strategy! Repurpose and repost your content onto as many different social media platforms as you can. Every TikTok you make, ensure that it's saved to your camera roll and post it as a reel on Instagram, as a short on YouTube Shorts and as a video on Facebook. You can either repost the exact same video, or make some edits to cut it down and make it more platform-appropriate. Through this, and by keeping up community management across each platform, you will be able to build a consistent presence across multiple apps so you become less reliant on one. That way when potential bans, algorithm updates or other unpredictable changes occur on one of the platforms, you stand with less to lose as you still have a strong audience who will stick with you elsewhere. It is important to make your audience aware of exactly which platforms you are also present on (e.g. through having your channels linked in your bio, or creating content directly talking to and informing your audience of this), so they can be supporting you across all apps so if TikTok, or any of the platforms, suddenly disappears for them, they know exactly where else to find you! #SocialMedia #SocialMediaNews #TikTok #TikTokNews #Repurpose #SocialMediaStrategy #ContentStrategy #DigitalMarketing

Instagram's New Notes on Reels: Game-Changer or Just a Trend? Instagram's latest feature allows users to leave temporary Notes on Reels and grid posts, visible as floating bubbles that disappear after three days. These semi-private comments can be tailored to close friends or mutual followers. While they offer a more intimate interaction and enhance private communication on the platform, there's a question of whether they'll add real value or become just another fleeting trend. Could this feature foster more meaningful connections, or is it simply Instagram's attempt to mimic the success of ephemeral content in other apps? Share your thoughts on how you might use this feature! Are you excited to try out Notes on Reels? Let us know how you think this feature will impact your Instagram experience. Possible digital disruption alert! TikTok is opening the bid of taking over Instagram through their Notes app. 📸 TL;DR: TikTok launched its new app called Notes, currently in beta testing within Canada and Australia. This app offers a dedicated platform for sharing images and text, setting the stage for a direct competition with Instagram. 💡 Since 2020, TikTok has been a game-changer, reshaping entertainment consumption habits and influencing global digital advertising strategies. 🔄 This move by TikTok reflects a common social media marketing strategy: platform convergence. It mirrors Instagram's integration of Snapchat's Stories and the emergence of Reels as a rival to TikTok's short-form, vertical video content. 💬 So, what's your take? Do we need another photo-sharing app? Are we going to face a shift in power? #TikTok #Instagram #SocialMedia #DigitalMarketing #Innovation
