Do you notice the three things that are always in play here? i) High energy ii) Optimism iii) An ability to forecast a successful business model based on the needs of the market. There’s a lot more too. Capital investment, staffing/training, regulatory compliance, marketing…the list goes on, but the successful airline managers always have a similar personality. This really should be a course at every business college in America, just as the psychology of winning is being taught at any good high school football program.

As a Consumer and Shopping Marketing Expert, it’s fascinating to see the shifts highlighted by the CLIA 2023 report, these are some highlights: • Younger generations are key to the future of cruising; 88% of cruising Millennials intend to do it again. • Cruises are popular for family travel across generations, with 73% of passengers on multi-gen trips. • An uptick in solo travel has cruise lines increasing single cabin offerings. • Cruise itineraries are diversifying to attract new and returning cruisers with various trip lengths. • Cruises are enhancing the journey with more immersive stays, including overnights in ports. It was also great to reconnect with colleagues and industry peers.
