What a privilege to share my experiences in this months context article

In a world where the public is absent in conversations about the public's health, a group of individuals began a mission to give voice to the most fundamental aspect of public health—the people. We know that no single strategy will work to put people first in public health. But listening matters. So does engagement. We are here to listen; we are here to learn; we are here to reach one another as we bridge the deep divide between the public and their health. We also believe that the often-unheard stories, unspoken sentiments, and unshared portraits may help close the gap between the public and public health experts. The theme of our second issue is based on the submissions we received in our second and third crowdsourcing open calls: 1) How might we view healing in mental health through art, letters, stories, and poetry following the pandemic? and 2) How might we reflect and reimagine wellness in public health as art, letters, stories, and poetry? We encouraged the public to submit content that represents how they interpret public health through one or more creative outlets. 𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗕𝗨𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗦 -- 𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦 I chaired the Independent Working Group on Tribunals, Hospital Managers and Patient Safeguards in 2018, as part of the Wessely Review of the 1983 Act. This paper from 2018 attempted to summarise the issues for the working group in relation to a Mental Health Tribunal's powers, and the case for reform.
