The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Office of Principal Scientific Advisor, in association with Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and the Department of Science & Technology, are organizing the 2nd International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2024) from 11th – 13th September 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event focuses on domain specific research interactions on Hydrogen production, storage, distribution & downstream applications, green financing, human resource upskilling and startup initiatives in the Green Hydrogen sphere. Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), as the event partner of this conference, is the leading implementing agency of the Government of India in rolling out the SIGHT scheme, and is enabling the scaling up of Green Hydrogen production, Electrolyser Manufacturing and Green Ammonia production, with 412,000 metric tonness of Green Hydrogen Production capacity and 3 GW of Electrolyser Manufacturing capacity already allocated, and several other tenders in progress.

SECI inked an MoU today under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana with Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education for implementation of Grid Connected Roof Top (GCRT) Projects. As part of this MoU, SECI will implement GCRT projects on various buildings, institutes, colleges, universities under the Department of Higher Education.

Press Release SECI Attains Navratna Status Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has been granted the Navratna status on 30th August 2024 by the Ministry of Finance. Completing its 13 years of incorporation, SECI is a leading CPSE dedicated to the development and expansion of Renewable Energy (RE) capacity in India with a cumulative generation awarded capacity of 69.25 GW and an annual power trading volume upwards of 42 Billion Units. SECI is the foremost Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA) of India which is continuously working towards fulfilling climate goals and striving for sustainable development. The company has posted a consolidated annual turnover of Rs. 13,118.68 Crore registering an increase of 20.85% over the previous year and Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 510.92 Crore registering a growth 34.89% in the Financial Year 2023-24. Classification as a Navratna CPSE enables SECI towards enhanced autonomy in financial and operational matters and will accelerate the company’s growth path through better agility, improved geographical presence and technology focus. This is yet another marker of the Government’s focus on India’s transition towards sustainable energy.

Shri Sivakumar V Vepakomma joins SECI as Director (Power System) Shri Sivakumar V Vepakomma joins Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited as Director (Power System) on 30th August 2024. Prior to this, Shri Sivakumar served at NTPC Green Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd as Chief General Manager responsible for engineering, contracts, commercial, business development and carbon trading functions. He was also the maiden CEO of the JV company of NTPC Green Energy Ltd and IOCL Ltd. He brings along 34 years of experience in the Power sector in areas like Project Construction, Commissioning, O&M, Commercial and regulatory, Energy and Efficiency Management, developing Solar, Wind, Hybrid and Storage solutions. Shri Sivakumar is an Engineering Graduate and holds an MSc. in Energy Systems and Environment from University of Strathclyde, UK (British Chevening Scholar) and completed Post Graduate Certification Program in Project Management from Indian Institute of Management, Indore.

SECI Celebrates 78th Independence Day with enthusiasm Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) celebrated the 78th Independence Day by conducting various programs based on the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat’. The event consisted of competitions like Singing, Slogan Recitation and Open Quiz which elevated the patriotic spirits of all employees. During the event, senior management and all employees of SECI were present.
