Our country Manager in Romania, Adrian Dobre, and Carsten Lauth Jacobsen, Head of Treasury, participated at the Romanian Green PPA 2024 Conference, the first regional business conference dedicated to PPAs for renewable energy. The event brought together the main players in the renewable energy market, including developers, investors, producers, suppliers, energy traders, and end consumers, to discuss the green economy. We gained relevant insights regarding the PPA market in Romania and the current issues in the market. The directions are clear for Romania how to stabilize energy markets in the long term, to have investments in energy production and fair prices for consumers: stimulating PPAs, promoting CfDs and improving forward market liquidity. However, Romania is also facing some significant challenges, market uncertainty, guarantees of origin can only be used in Romania and political uncertainty after 2025.

Vietnam has a strong opportunity to scale up clean energy access and deployment. The commercial and industrial sector represents 60% of Vietnam’s electricity consumption, with which includes hundreds of companies seeking #cleanenergy access to meet decarbonization goals. Vietnam's new Direct Power Purchase Mechanism (DPPA), which stipulates mechanisms for direct #energy purchase between power harnessing units and large electricity customers, will be a catalyst for #RenewableEnergy adoption in the coming years, market sources told S&P Global Commodity Insights at the Solar & Storage Vietnam 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City over July 10-11.
